There are many games that are popular among GOG users and not popular on Steam. There are many games that publishers choose to release on GOG and NOT on Steam.

rjbuffchix: Okay, with that, we are definitely done this "discussion" for now. Thanks for the extra-hearty laugh on that one though!
The only people laughing are just laughing at you...

I'm pretty sure almost everyone else knows exactly why this game was rejected...and deservedly so. It was not downvoted on Steam for political reasons, it was downvoted because it is bad. And I also laugh at your argument that GoG changing their mind and accepting a horrible game with low sales and poor reviews somehow would alleviate concerns over curation. It would likely work to the contrary as people use Grimoire as the next example of why the next marginal game "needs" to be accepted.
low rated
So what, there are many bad games here, and they aren't even classic style RPGs!

GIVE US GRIMOIRE! I DEMAND IT
Just as a point of fact if anyone is looking to buy, it's currently 50% off (U.S. $4.99) in the Steam summer sale.

Amazing.
Yet Grimoire still feels over-priced until I find whether the online only manual for Grimoire was updated for V2 gameplay.
Steam summer sale discount on Grimoire is over.
Didn't end up buying Grimoire, even at it's $4.99 price. Oh well.

For all the posts in this thread, I'm curious if anyone in the conversation has actually played it.

I have it on my "maybe" WL, but yeah, even at $5 there are still other games I'd buy first.

Honestly doesn't seem like it. Spent a few posts asking one of the most ardent Grimoire defenders in this thread how the game actually played, and.....they never answered that question, just had rants about OG releasing their documentation as to why Girmoire was REALLY rejected.

Frankly it seems logic to me. I would like also play Grimoire, but I do not buy games outside GOG (= real DRM free), so until it will be here I will not play it, probably as some others. If we would have it and play it, than it would not be necessary ask for release here, right?

Same here, I would love to play it but Im not buying it on Steam.
At this point I'd rather see Dungeon Master and Knights of the Chalice on GOG.
It's available DRM free at itch io. Not sure if it's updated to the latest version though

You know, for some people who supposedly "don't care" about Grimoire or Cleve, they sure have spent a lot of time obcessing about them in this thread.
it's a cRPG not made (i think, no idea really) in RPGMaker, with a long long development time(you could fit in an entire school education including breaks + optional Phd into the alleged development time period), many promised release dates that have been blow past in the finest vapor-ware tradition, with a developer that is very very Internet-Online.

Maybe 1 full page of this currently 28 page thread seems to have been devoted to actual Grimoire game-play discussion, 2 or 3 pages if you include questions/responses about the Grimoire manual + what's inside of it.

I have. It's fun sometimes. The UI is painful. Apparently, to Cleve B., Retro means ignoring all the great QoL features that have come out since you started making your game as a love letter to games that are tedious to play.
