lowyhong: @JudasIscariot @TheJoe Forget about the game, the drama is what counts lol :P
This is finely aged drama that has been brewed in only the finest casks in Scotland :D.
avatar
tomimt: So, let me get this straight. The game has been in the making for 17 years?
avatar
Aaron86: Yes. And the developer is apparently...controversial. The tragic part is that I would buy and enjoy Grimoire if it wasn't for its entire development process. Maybe someone can pull a Gearbox Software and take over Grimoire from Blakemore? P.S. Who exactly is that in your attachment, lowyhong?
Calvin Barkmore from Jagged Alliance 2 :D

Damuna: I heard they used steel drums.
Heresy! Drama is best when it soaks into the wooden walls of the casks! Besides, the steel would leave an aftertaste, one would think :D
I wonder if Grimoire will be compatible with VaultOS :P

dirtyharry50: This just in from our good friend Cleve Blakemore. A new demo with fixes is now available!

Grimoire Version 1.31 is now available for download at:

http://www.filedropper.com/grimoiredemov131

Please note that it is a good idea to uninstall any old versions of the demo before installing this new one.

Please report any problems with a description of how to reproduce them so we can fix them. This version has been tested on Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 7 in 32/64 bit flavors with no bugs found in the public demo. Running pretty solid. Please keep in mind there are still many placeholder graphics in the game that will be replaced with better versions in the final release.

Tooltips were disabled in this version but they have been implemented, time was not available to test them thoroughly yet. They will certainly appear in the next version in some form.

Certain modifications to various parts of the demo and full game have resulted from feedback, one of the most notable is a means to recover dismissed party members in the game.
It works quite well on my Win 7 64-bit install :D

Awaiting the supahdemo as it's called.

nijuu: does this mean it will be coming to Gog? ;)
It means I am excited for a game and am willing to share my own excitement :P
avatar
nijuu: good for you.I'm trying to work out why it keeps going to black screen.wondering if its a video driver issue
Try running the game as Administrator and use Windows XP Service Pack 2 or 3 as the compatibility mode. To note, I have an Nvidia card and the latest version, 1.31, ran flawlessly.

dirtyharry50: A new update from Cleve today regarding progress on Grimoire:

"Okay a month went by with no major updates.

Crushed for time from morning ’til night at the moment, been working on eliminating last issues from the game.

Obviously we are getting behind.

Two resolutions for this month 100%:

We will be sending the pledge packets for game content out this week.

We will release the superdemo shortly to give people to play until the full version is ready. My son is testing the superdemo this week to make sure it is solid.

Regards and thanks for not forming a lynch mob yet,
Cleve Blakemore"
Source? I am quite anxious about Grimoire and all so I'd like to know where I can get news about it. Thanks :D

dirtyharry50: The source is my email. I pledged to the campaign and Cleve sends me updates so I share them here. However, these exact same updates can be seen by checking the Indiegogo page for the game as well. The thing is, you'd have to check every day for a month before seeing one, etc.
Ahh cool. Thank you for letting us all know here :D.

dirtyharry50: Here is the page Judas where updates are publicly posted:

You can trust me as an advocate for this game to post each new on the day it appears in this thread though if you don't want to bother checking daily. :D
Well, I can always check but feel free to post any juicy news regarding the game :D

meudoland: it would be interesting to know relying on what does mr Cleve get by, considering his abyssal development times...
I believe he has a day job :)
All I want is for the Cleveian Grimoire to be released and I hope that this whole affair can be forgotten if and when Cleve's Grimoire is released.

fronzelneekburm: Cleve is down to 10 bugs, which apparently inspired him to leave this on the 'dex.

Imagine the fiercesome superhuman lantern-jawed he-man resolve required to maintain this constant level of dedication over a 9 year period. Imagine the Nietszchean force of will needed to persist at this without surrender. Now imagine the entire time I have been working on it, mega-shrill swayback trannies have been leaping all about and shrieking I would never finish and it was all hopeless and why would I bother in high-pitched girly-man voices. One begins to see the outlines of a giant standing amidst these pygmies, a teeth-clenched two-fisted extremely buffed superhero comparable to the great pulp heroes like Doc Savage, Prince Zarkon or The Shadow. An Atlas-like figure towering over the tiny midget man-lite lice who number as his detractors. A colossus of games development whose mighty singlehanded deed will live forever as one of the greatest achievements in all of nerd-dom forever. This, even before he completes these 10 remaining obstacles standing between his legend and history. The audacity of a man to even attempt such a thing. It boggles the mind. Or even more incredibly, to finally arrive at ten issues left after being besieged by skin-puppet sunken-chested neckbeards for decades crying out in a falsetto that no mortal man would ever reach this level, it was a doomed endeavour that could never succeed.

fronzelneekburm: No humble pie for that guy.

I hope the writing in Grimoire reflects the level of awesome regularly on display in Cleve's posts.
Soooooo....Grimoire?
