So, let me get this straight. The game has been in the making for 17 years?
17 years?
The emphasis in the game is on the story, exploration, discovery, character advancement, puzzle solving, strategic phased combat, treasure hunting, inventory management and interaction with the non-player characters encountered during play.
You know, when the "emphasis" list hits ten points, you really start to wonder, whether they know the meaning of "emphasis".

Also, I'm getting a Limbo of the Lost vibe for some reason. Mainly due to "over a decade in development with no budget"

Yes. And the developer is apparently...controversial.

The tragic part is that I would buy and enjoy Grimoire if it wasn't for its entire development process.

Maybe someone can pull a Gearbox Software and take over Grimoire from Blakemore?

P.S. Who exactly is that in your attachment, lowyhong?

Calvin Barkmore from Jagged Alliance 2 :D
I seriously thought you meant this game.

JudasIscariot: This is finely aged drama that has been brewed in only the finest casks in Scotland :D.

Damuna: I heard they used steel drums.
Heresy! Drama is best when it soaks into the wooden walls of the casks! Besides, the steel would leave an aftertaste, one would think :D
Promised release date is May 2013. I may kick in $25.
RPGCodex did confirm that Cleve worked for Sir-Tech in the early 90's making Wizardry 8: Stones of Arnhem, which was cancelled (the actual Wizardry 8 got made in full-3D years later as we know). Stones of Arnhem was confirmed to exist by one other (real) person who worked on the project.

As for Cleve's..... strange stories... about the reason the project was cancelled and why Sir-Tech went bankrupt, well it's not very believable, it's hard to know if Cleve was just making stuff up to troll members on the Codex.

As for Grimoire, it most definitely exists and it's probably the best RPG I've ever played, the best way I can explain it is a bit like early Might & Magic games, there's craploads of little magical hidden stuff in the game. I have the original 1996 beta demo on my computer if anyone wants it I'll put it on mediafire, you can run it through DOSBox (the original game was made in DOS, Cleve apparently ported it to Windows and redid all the art).
That is a fascinating pitch video. I laugh every time it goes into text mode. I have no idea what the drama is though. Is there somewhere I can read up on it?

Edit: Haha, the resolution increases.

Someone posted this link in another thread.

Basically, no way in hell would I trust this guy with my money, although you can read it and make your own judgments.

Try this one as well.
Grimoire seems to be filled with a lot of "too good to be true" promises. There's no way the game would ever full fill those all. Not at the promised level of quality at least.
As I personally told the guy behind this on another forum, I'm quite willing to buy the game once its out, heck, I would probably buy it close to release, he has missed too many release dates for me to be willing to risk my money before I have proof of the final product actually existing.

Crosmando:
Oh?
So it was real, and entertaining?
I am further amused by the little chart comparing old RPGs to each other. Cause like, Grimoire is obviously the best cause it has bigger numbers than anyone else!

The gameplay numbers are a little weird, too. Wizardry 7 is one of my favorite games ever and I've played through it many times, and there's simply no way it has 400 hours of play time in it. Even if you wandered around aimlessly for months of ingame time and got all your characters past level 100 you'd have a lot of trouble hitting the 400 hours mark. I suppose it's technically possible to put that much time into it, but the same can be said for ANY game with respawning enemies.
