guynamedbilly: I've been playing the DOS games recently and I think now is the time for a real Duke Nukem 3.
Manhattan Project is probably the closest you're gonna get.

We already have it in today's society. Check Pennsylvania Avenue.

Sniskerbobberton: Says the guy who openly supports a party that murders unborn babies, ones that are so close to birth, but misogyny is the greatest threat, right?
Fetuses aren't babies, and I believe that murder is only illegal taking of life.
A game where Duke is elected president of the United States could result in some of the more cunning social commentary in a game in recent years. Just saying.

"Come GET SOME!".

morolf: Duke Nukem was sexist and misogynist, shouldn't have a place in 2019 anyway.
avatar
AlienMind: That's not true, he loved pussy.
He also paid sex workers more than enough just for shaking it, baby. All from his hard working job of destroying alien spaceships.
He also had balls of steel, more than I see you having, excreting the same vapid mass conformist message every other brainwashed fascist liberal does.
Meat is bad, whistling women is bad, blah blah blah
BORING
ANd Right Wing rants are boring.
II agree that some of the PC we see is silly, but, frankly, though I enjoyed the Duke Nukem games, I found his attitude towards women to be one of the game's worst features.

Actualy the new levels in the Duke Nukem 20th Anniversary tour really toned down the sexism. Duke was still a smart ass,but the attitude toward women of just being sex objects was gone.

I think the franchise never really reoovered from the fiasco that was Duke Nukem Forever. Granted, the final game was more mediocre then terrible but still for a game to be in development that long, get that much negative press from the inept way the game was developed, and then to bring forth such a bland, mediocre product was always going to be very hard to come back from.
Yeah, a film was announced, but IMHO It wil lend up in development hell, And a washed up actor like John Cena in the lead shows this is going to be apretty low budget project anyway.

Duke needs to return and offend people now more than ever. If he doesn't grab women by the pussy, he's not my kind of hero. If people truly get offended by a game, they need to get offended.

As Penn Jilette put it: "We're all offended, all the time, and we don't have a fucking right not to be offended!"

I think you’re missing the point there. The point isn’t that he grabbed women by the pussy. It’s that women wanted him to grab them by the pussy.

I meant metaphorical pussy grabbing, as in being a total misogynistic pig.

What about babies that are a week away from being born? At what point does a 'fetus' obtain personhood?

If murder is only the illegal taking of life, what about all the "non-persons" killed by the Nazis?

No need to reply, I just wanted to ask these rhetorical questions.

But more on topic - but an opinion that is probably just as unpopular - for me the only real Duke Nukem games are the first two.

I'm pretty sure in my case it would have been deemed acceptable.

Of course, then you have Tauto; proof that abortion doesn't necessarily mean the death of the fetus.

While not Duke, what about Serious Sam ?
The first and second encounter have been ported to the fusion 2017 engine, and still play great. I mean, who can forget "AAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Boom!!" ?
There is also the excellent Serious Sam 3, and a 4th is in production.

Yea I tried it also. It seems it was well liked at the time, but I think that game is rough.

Agreed. It's kind of fun, but something just feels off. It feels like a mod or something.

But I'll still reply on some:

as far as I know, abortion needs to be preformed before certain deadline, after that you are talking about case by case scenarios which aren't covered by mass killing of babies, and not clearly defined.

Your opinion on Duke Nukem is really unpopular, but hey, it's yours!

I, for one, are glad you weren't aborted. I may not agree with your politics, but I often find myself enjoying your witty repartee.

This is no longer true in New York, and other US states are looking making similar changes.

You know what they say, opinions are like arseholes - everyone has one ;)
