The not-so-little house on the prairie.

UPDATE: Good news everyone! Stardew Valley, the irresistible indie sensation, is now ripe and ready to be picked up by Mac and Linux users as well. Off to the countryside, everyone, the rural life awaits!

Stardew Valley, a humble province where opportunities for up-and-coming farmers and hopeful pillars of the community abound, is available now DRM-free on GOG.com.

How kind of your late grandfather to leave you that old farm plot you have so many fond memories of. Sadly, the fields are in poor shape, the house is in disrepair, and a ruthless corporation is bleeding the local community dry of resources. But hard work, dedication, and your new local friends will help you turn this around and build a proper life for yourself.

Armed with only some basic tools and a handful of coins you begin ploughing the land, mining resources, raising animals, or even deforesting your corner of Stardew Valley. As your farming endeavors begin to pay off, your business and household will expand, and soon you will find yourself wondering whether you should rally the local community against the aggressive Joja Corporation or embrace their capitalistic ways. But before you go all revolutionary, you might want to first fix the front fence and put up that scarecrow in the pumpkin fields. You did promise your wife to get it done before dinner.

Work hard, play hard, embed yourself into the local community, and start a new life in Stardew Valley, DRM-free on GOG.com.

MischiefMaker: Mushihimesama was too niche for GOG but you're publishing a Harvest Moon clone in the age of Minecraft?
I have no interest in Minecraft. I do have interest in Harvest Moon and similar games.

As a sandbox, Minecraft lacks the focus that games like Harvest Moon enjoy. Arguing that Minecraft replaces games like Harvest Moon because you can grow crops in it is like saying that GTA replaces games like Gran Turismo and Mario Kart because you can participate in car races. There is value in specialisation.

That said, I am in favour of seeing more shmups on GOG and do wish GOG would be more transparent with its selection process. Though, unlike some, I am firmly against eliminating that process entirely. Just because GOG curation requires more refinement (and open-mindedness) doesn't mean that it's a mistake for GOG to curate games.
Whats Harvest Moon? (genuine question - not a TinyE wannabe here lol).
Awesome, been waiting to play a Harvest Moon game since the one on GBA. The question is though, this or Story of Seasons on 3DS?
Looks interesting... sigh, too many games looks interesting for me lately. :)

I assume your talking about the game. It's a simulation game were you start a farm, raise animals ect. See:

The premise of Harvest Moon is that you are either a grandchild of someone who ran a farm and inherited the farm or someone who got sick of city life and wanted a farm. So, you farm, make money, meet people, get married usually, have a child, try to restore a Harvest Goddess to power (especially in the more recent games) and play mini-games.

Kind of like The Sims without the murder, adultery and having a typical job.
Thanks for the replies ppl. I am now enlightened :D
We need the Runefactory games on PC.

That looks interesting and relaxing. Wishlisted for now because I spent too much money lately and I'm broke.
Over 100 different pixel-y shirts to choose from!

If you didn't wantonly abuse the ability to name your farm I would call into question your credibility as a vid-ya game enthusiast.
