The not-so-little house on the prairie.

UPDATE: Good news everyone! Stardew Valley, the irresistible indie sensation, is now ripe and ready to be picked up by Mac and Linux users as well. Off to the countryside, everyone, the rural life awaits!

Stardew Valley, a humble province where opportunities for up-and-coming farmers and hopeful pillars of the community abound, is available now DRM-free on GOG.com.

How kind of your late grandfather to leave you that old farm plot you have so many fond memories of. Sadly, the fields are in poor shape, the house is in disrepair, and a ruthless corporation is bleeding the local community dry of resources. But hard work, dedication, and your new local friends will help you turn this around and build a proper life for yourself.

Armed with only some basic tools and a handful of coins you begin ploughing the land, mining resources, raising animals, or even deforesting your corner of Stardew Valley. As your farming endeavors begin to pay off, your business and household will expand, and soon you will find yourself wondering whether you should rally the local community against the aggressive Joja Corporation or embrace their capitalistic ways. But before you go all revolutionary, you might want to first fix the front fence and put up that scarecrow in the pumpkin fields. You did promise your wife to get it done before dinner.

Work hard, play hard, embed yourself into the local community, and start a new life in Stardew Valley, DRM-free on GOG.com.

Wooot, so glad it's here, instabought! :-) *downloading now, can't wait!*
RuneFactory & Harvestmoon & Terraria had a baby and this is it!

Purchased and cant wait to play
Nice. I've been waiting for this. Bought
Nice, but I'll be wait for awhile for reviews before to buy it.
This game hits Linux and it will be an insta buy for me. Also: my mom is a pro Harvest Moon gamer (that's literally the only reason we still have a PS1 in the house) and she'd play this more than I will :-)

ErekoseDM: They raised the price on me by $5 when I went to pay . . . :(

Canceled.
From what price to what, and in what currency? The GOG price in USD is $14.99, same as Steam, at least for US customers.
Would've loved to have bought this day one, but regional pricing.
Oh well.
Sweet! I'll play it when I'm done with Superhot. :)
Cute, reminds me of Harvest Moon. I used to like Harvest Moon when I was younger, but all HM games have the fatal flaw that after a while you realise there is no real choice in the game: clear fields, buy seeds, plant and water seeds until you can harvest crops, sell crops, repeat until you can afford chicken, then repeat everything until you can afford cows and once you have reached that step you have essentially seen everything the game has to offer.

There is no real choice, any choice you have is superficial and doesn't make any real difference. And when there is no choice there is no challenge either.

Mushihimesama was too niche for GOG but you're publishing a Harvest Moon clone in the age of Minecraft?

Can anybody (preferably somebody in blue :-)) confirm that ConcernedApe is publishing the game here himself?

Both in Steam and the Humble Store the listed publisher in the game page is Chucklefish, and at least in Steam I see already angry people who don't want to support them and, therefore, are not buying the game there.

I wonder if it's been an oversight in the game page here or ConcernedApe actually made the deal directly with gog (which strikes me as odd).
Well, I was initially not that interested, but all the chat here makes it sound more appealing. Might still hold off for now though.

One thing - does it have "make a mistake, die, and start all over from scratch" gameplay like Don't Starve and Kingdom, or is it more forgiving?

Oh, and does it have unlockables?

Huh, this is rather interesting. Chucklefish is the publisher, but possibly this was done prior to them entering the picture? GOG jumping at a Harvest Moon clone is quite amusing - at this point, maybe they should give that one guy who appears in every thread asking for that bug shmup the damn game :) But Chucklefish publishing it is even more amusing - both this game and the previously published Interstellaria are basically subsets of their own game, Starbound, which is basically Terraria++, which is basically Minecraft2D. Chuckleworthy :)
