It ain't easy being the King.

UPDATE: The Royal Edition is now available for purchase, containing new skins, cutscenes, battlegrounds, and more! Get it 30% off until May 30, 10am UTC.
Owners of the base game get a permanent 80% discount on Royal Edition.

Regalia: Of Men and Monarchs, a turn-based RPG where you try not to spill too much of your royal blood, is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com.

After an ill-fated expedition to empty the treasury, Kay and his royal siblings must reluctantly go on an adventure to restore the kingdom to its former glory. Thankfully, this means exciting turn-based fighting, weapon-crafting, plenty of kooky characters to meet or recruit, and lots of sightseeing.

Muttala: I am a KS backer for the game, anyone knows that The Unending Grimoire released here?
According to the Royal Edition description Unending Grimoire is included, "it also comes with two cool expansions: The Unending Grimoire and Paragons and Pajamas." I don't see any options for individual purchase but for $4.99 to upgrade to Royal that seems fair.
Also a kickstarter backer here.

Hm, interesting! The original game is very good; one of my favorites of last year. But I'm wondering, will we have to start over from the beginning, just to access the new content? Or are our old save games compatible with this version?
Finally, took them long enough!
A good excuse to play the game again. :)

They said there have been improvements to the bse game... Even if this did not make the compatibility of savegames difficult, the design geared to favor high replayability, coupled with the improvements, would be great incentives for another playthrough :-)

Neat!

I'm going to make a post in For Trade too, but does anyone with the base game want to make a $ for $ trade (or I'd go a little over?) for a copy of this?

Looks like it's 80% off for a repeat buy.

RWarehall: Question for you...
With the 80% off is it $5 even or $4.99?
4.99
The blurb says...

"Create your party of distinct individuals"

But I think they lie. I looked at a utube run of this and I don`t see anyway to create your party. they all look premade.

Niggles: GOG probably needs to remove the two pointless "reviews" (one bitching about loading screen - nothing about gameplay at all and other random letters)...very useless for anyone looking for a review :(
They've been downvoted so much, they're at the end of the reviews now.

The numbers one now sits at 6 of 283 found useful. And the poster's other review here is 'hhhh' and heavily downvoted as well.

You have to choose whom to develop. Then, for each trip, you choose who is accompanying you. There is no way to develop everyone, so each player would end up with very different parties. The game allows experimenting to a certain degree, but then, there is always things to be tried in another playthrough.

I see thanks.

However, when they say `create` I expect to be able to `create` the party from scratch like in some other rpgs. They should change the wording to "Choose and develope different part members".
Have t admit that I;m tempted but I have so many RPGs that I have to play.....

edit: Oops, it;s already off sale. Wishlisted for now.

What exactly is this "Paragons and Pajamas" DLC. Is this dlc already in the game or what? cant find any information about it besides kickstarter goal or something.

It is really a tactical RPG with lots of things to do at home between expeditions. And during expeditions, beside fights. That part is more substantial than in Blackguards, for example.

Also, the game is more light-hearted than Blackguards, and really for all ages. Both are excellent, get them both!! ;-)

IT's different costumes for each character.
In your character tab is a 'Customize' button, in the 'normal version' that button didn't do anything, I haven't installed the Royal Edition yet, but I'd assume you'll be able to change your characters appearance from the get go.
Has anyone even bought the Royal Edition yet? I'm still waiting for someone to confirm whether or not it has GOG Galaxy achievements like the original edition has.
