Today we welcome two unique and award-winning adventure games from Square Enix in our store. Life is Strange tells a story of Max Caulfield, a photography senior who discovers she can rewind time while saving her best friend Chloe Price. After that, Max and Chloe uncover the dark secrets of Arcadia Bay city and the consequences of meddling with time.

The story of Life Is Strange: Before the Storm is set three years before the events of the first game. We follow sixteen-year-old Chloe Price who forms an unlikely friendship with Rachel Amber, a beautiful and popular girl whose family holds a dark secret. Like in the previous title, every player’s choice will have a tremendous impact on the game’s story.

Both Life is Strange and Life Is Strange: Before the Storm games are now available DRM-free on GOG.COM with an 80% discount until 15th June, 1 PM UTC.

Leroux: By the way, does anyone know whatever happened to the bonus episode Farewell?
It's part of the "Deluxe Edition"

Leroux: By the way, does anyone know whatever happened to the bonus episode Farewell? I seem to remember that it was added to the library of Complete Edition buyers on Steam for free, when it came out, and I definitely played it, but now I don't see any mention of it anywhere on the store pages of Steam and GOG, and I can't find it as DLC in my library either. Is it now secretly part of the main game, or was it removed and is lost for all new buyers? :/

EDIT: Oh, wait, I confused the two games. It was actually a bonus to Before the Storm, and is still in my library and mentioned on the Steam store page, but not on the GOG page, so there's one question remaining:

Does LiS: Before the Storm on GOG include the 'fourth', bonus episode Farewell?
I guess that's what you get when buying the Deluxe Edition?
It includes Farewell.

EDIT: Oh I was soooo late on this haha, didn't notice ;p

Does this include the patch that allows you to punch Max Caulfield in the face? :p
Thank you, GOG!
Woow. Instabuy !! Thanks GOG for this awesome summer sale ! :)
More in the "Telltale" style of adventure than real adventures, but I've heard good things about this and it's a great price.
What is the gameplay like in these games? Do I control one of the characters directly, or is it more like watching a movie and I make some decisions now and then?
I never played similar games, nor any Telltale game.

You control the one character. There's a lot more interaction than watching a movie. Certainly watch some game play videos to get an idea.

I´m afraid of spoilers :)
But as long as I control a character, it´s a full game for me.

Understandable. But yes, you move a character in a 3D environment from room to room, location to location. Choices you make will drive the story and your relationships. There are some interesting (but sometimes frustrating) mechanics to play with. Enjoy!
These 2 first games are the best ones in the series... glad they DRM-free now... :)
I´m ready to cry again

shmerl: As usual, Feral messed up the Linux release.
Has a reason been given for not releasing Linux ports on GOG? I've taken a look and only found speculation aside from the generic "No interest at this time" comment

They repeatedly and consistently stated something like the fact that GOG and they have "different views". Also in some private e-mail they made statements like (Not literally, but within the meaning) "We believe that our intellectual property needs protection, so GOG is not suitable for us".

and the fact that all of their games in Steam have protection (at least Steam-stub, and often their self-made protection), most likely it’s that they don’t want to release their ports DRM-free.

Simply put, they have a consistent pro-DRM position.
