Dante Johnson, a young upcoming Lieutenant, is called upon to help push back the threat and strengthen humanity's position.
You are first tasked with securing a small sector, but soon your impressive feats will let you expand your domain and eventually become a Grand Admiral who can single-handedly decide the outcome of intergalactic conflicts. To get there, you must exhibit excellent commanding skills, both in combat and resource management, an aptness in diplomacy, and a good grip on the economic realities of the regions under your command. Good luck, Lieutenant.

r-ichi-e: Let''s not forget about Reunion, the spiritual first part of this trilogy
Hmm, Reunion... Now THAT is a game that rings a bell. Now I know why I had the feeling that those colony management screenshots remind me of something.
Vow, that is definitely one game I didn't have much hope of seeing on gog or anywhere else. Good job gog.

mystral: Nice release, but the one I really want is the sequel, which is one of my favourite space 4X. Any chance we could see IG 2 here anytime soon?

ThomNG: Soon - yes, this year? - No :) Hope you enjoy the first part as well!
Any update on Supreme Commander situation?

ETA for IG 2 ?...

That's my no.1 best game ever instant buy for me! :D
Old game, Strategy, Runs on XP/Vista, less than $5 = insta-bought.
Having played Master of Orion 1/2 recently, I'm interested this title.
How do compare this game with MoO1/2? Seems like this game is RTS not turn based game.Right?
I was a bit disappointed not to see any cool oldie lately but this one fixed it :D
Does this game only have a Campaign Mode? I never played this game before. When I saw it I expected something different, a 4X game. But the game is leaded by a story where things happen always at a specific time. There is almost no randomness in it.
Holy moly! Thanks guys! Now, IG 2 and my life will be complete :)

As far as I remember - yes .
But when you reach Grand Admiral rank - there will be almost absolute freedom with all game features & entire map available.

It's more like story driven version of Pax Imperia (so yes - realtime with pause).
It's rather scripted before you reach Admiral rank, but after that - real 4x strategy game begins. =)

It would be great to see Supreme Commander on GOG! The wishlist is near 1,000 votes!

OP1: A nice release from GOG. I`m still waiting for IG2 though.
hard to disagree with that.
holding on to my 4$ to put towards #2.

a few sales of this will get them moving towards 2, but if most hold off, then 2 will probably come faster.

I hope they have the full video for all three campaigns and all.
remember how you had to switch cd's, will be neat after all that ehh?
click a single exe and play any of the 3 with out disks.

Hope my hopes aren't too much..
the android version is terrible.

jlucas1299: Me too - IG 2 would be an insta-buy for me. Extremely fun times back on Win 98. It was very difficult for me to run on anything XP or later due to the DRM / disc swapping. Still might try the original while it's on sale.

blotunga: Well, it's available on Android, so I don't think it's impossible to port it to the PC
we do NOT want the android version.. it really is terrible, own a copy of it myself.
I have tried it on a nexus 7, 2012 and 2013 32GB on each tablet, also on a galaxy tab a 8", doesn't run right on any of the three.

furthermore there is no multiplayer.

I won't buy a port of the port, this game was made for PC, we want the original version, with all 3 cd's included, the whole package, the original game in it's entirity, anything less is not really IG2 is it?

the android version isn't any good.

Wow wow wow wow!!! Is it as good as the 2nd one? I only played the 2nd one, a demo, and it was glorious!
Lovely release, waiting for the second game now. Wishlisted!
thanks @gog!!!! been waiting for this for a long long time... instabuy. hopefully imperium galactica 2 is just around the corner :-)

plz more good old games, lately gog feels more like *the* drm free alternative to steam (which is great too, btw). but then again maybe we already got 80% of the gog, all of which were relatively easy to get & it's getting harder & harder to get the last gems...
