The Human Empire strikes back.

Imperium Galactica, an ambitious mix of traditional 4X gameplay with real-time combat, resource gathering, and FMV, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 20% launch discount!

The fourth millennium finds humanity in a precarious position: spread all across the galaxy but also facing severe social unrest, we've become an easy target for imperialistic alien races. Dante Johnson, a young upcoming Lieutenant, is called upon to help push back the threat and strengthen humanity's position.
You are first tasked with securing a small sector, but soon your impressive feats will let you expand your domain and eventually become a Grand Admiral who can single-handedly decide the outcome of intergalactic conflicts. To get there, you must exhibit excellent commanding skills, both in combat and resource management, an aptness in diplomacy, and a good grip on the economic realities of the regions under your command. Good luck, Lieutenant.

Rise in power and gradually establish your formidable Imperium Galactica -- DRM-free on GOG.com.
The 20% discount will last until December 23, 1:59 PM UTC.

Enjoy this awesome classics release :) Wish you a wonderful weekend, dear GOG community!
@GOG: Adding the game to wishlist is broken.

On the game page, wishlist button is shown as the game is already wishlisted. Also on the front page it's shown with a heart symbol next to it.

The game doesn't appear on my wishlist page though.

EDIT: It has been fixed.

blotunga: COol, thanks Nordic, but I still wish for the 2nd one :)
Me too - IG 2 would be an insta-buy for me. Extremely fun times back on Win 98. It was very difficult for me to run on anything XP or later due to the DRM / disc swapping. Still might try the original while it's on sale.

Yeah, I got it running on my XP computer well enough, but no-go on the newer Win10. I'd instabuy IG2 as well

Since you didn't wish us a happy season, more to come from Nordic before the holidays? *wink wink*

Well, it's available on Android, so I don't think it's impossible to port it to the PC

...and happy holidays ;)
Nice release, but the one I really want is the sequel, which is one of my favourite space 4X. Any chance we could see IG 2 here anytime soon?

Soon - yes, this year? - No :) Hope you enjoy the first part as well!

It's good to see another old game released on GOG.

But another sci-fi themed RTS? Aren't there already dozens of these in GOG's catalogue?

Anyway, this game is not for me. Let's see if GOG will release a few interesting games next year. :D
THQ Nordic continues to deliver. Thanks very much for your continued support of GOG and DRM-free gaming! I'll make sure to get this one soon.
Hey, nice! I'm kind of full-up on this genre at the moment, but always good to keep the classics catalogue growing with genuinely good old games. Thanks!

Second one, just as the first one, is still owned by one and the same company, that made them: that means, if the first one is here, the second one should be close to follow :P

Also, thank you GOG/Nordic, for releasing this gem, I am really glad to see it here, as it is one of the very few games which were given almost full rating back when it was new :)

Sweet, nice price to boot :D
Yeah, very nice release ! I was hoping for that one :D
Unfortunately, I don't have enough money for now, so it's wishlisted, but it'll be absolutely bought at one moment :)
Now, I hope that episode 2 will follow very soon !

Edit : Thanks a lot to DampSquib, who made me a great christmas gift with this game :)
