Crosmando: So is someone from GOG staff going to actually tell us why these games are blocked in Australia and why instead of hiding like cowards?
That's what I was implying, but I didn't want to press too hard on the politics regarding their dystopian lockdowns. I think that would alert the mods. Or maybe not, I dunno. It's still true.

Didn't see your complete post. Sometimes I just scan and don't read each comment.

I just think it is weird that they are puzzled by their own countries Orwellian system, and then try to seek answers at devs or storefronts. Same goes for Germany.

Edit,
I really don't care if i get banned for mentioning some politics when they are related to an issue.

Please stop talking about Germany if you don't know AT ALL how German laws are working. Thank you.

SSMChan: That will probably be due to the Australia videogame censorship laws, which routinely competes with Germany for new demands on pretending adults don't play video games.

You might be able to get an precise answer on the legal reason out of GOG but they probably don't want to talk about it publicly as it puts them in an impossible situation where people will be unhappy no matter what they say. Or maybe it is in MangaGamer's hands.
Dude, if something is banned in Australia, it would be publicly available knowledge from the Classification Board. There's no evidence Evenicle or Subverse has been submitted to the board for classification, this is just GOG blocking it on their own inititive.

It's not like that's bad thing for GOG to block it on their own.

GOG surely knows that those games would almost certainly be banned by the Australian board, most especially Evenicle.

That same board recently banned Mary Skelter 3, which is much more tame than Evenicle is.

No point in GOG submitting games for rating that have a 99% chance to get banned anyway, and which would thus cause nothing but needless embarrassment and bad PR.

And anyway, GOG probably couldn't submit the games even if they wanted to, because GOG doesn't own the IPs. But the publishers wouldn't submit them for the same reason that GOG wouldn't either even if they could.

The problem here is with Australia's censorship-heavy laws, and not any other party. The Australian government, and they alone, are the only ones who you should be complaining to about this issue.

Evenicle perhaps. because it contains cannibalism, rape, bestiality, lolicon etc and is extremely over-the-top is how edgy it tries to be. But Subverse is pretty vanilla as way as far as porn games go.

Funny seeing as your country is the reason games sometimes get censored across the whole EU region.
So yes German laws are Orwellian!

They don't need to be submitted for rating in the first place, because they're digital-only PC games, which don't fall under the classification regulations.

Australia has banned almost all hentai despite not being listed by the Classification Board.

What gives your government the authority to do this? No idea, but your government is still doing it.

Stop reading tabloids and believing everything they say without fact checking.

This comment made me laugh. Few years ago the same ausi government made law, that any female with small breasts would be illegal to photograph nude. Being so deemed "under age". I was like....bruh.....wtf?? Yes, grown adult women fall into this category and I just stopped reading about that country altogether. No idea if that changed. But the point is, they still had completed the joirney into insanity and made it into law without question to begin with lol

I refer you to what I said above about not reading tabloids and believing everything they say without fact checking, because that is a complete myth.
Hey everyone. I noticed that everyone keeps saying to use a VPN but no one mentions which country to choose for the VPN lol?? I tried USA but Evenicle still not showing. Any help will be appreciated.
