Brand of a pirate.

Escape from Monkey Island™ is now available DRM-free, only on GOG.com.
Married life is not easy, especially when you're a restless and -largely- clueless pirate legend like Guybrush Threepwood. Doesn't help if your wife is considered officially dead, either.
Complete your Monkey Island collection as you embark on a hilarious adventure to save the pirates' unsavory way of life from the curse of late capitalism. Demonic cameos, cutthroat puzzles, and a dash of time paradox await!

Catch up on the legendary series with 25% off Curse of Monkey Island and 66% off Secret of Monkey Island and LeChuck's Revenge. Or grab them all together with Escape from Monkey Island with Stan's permanent, additional 25% series discount.
Individual discounts last until June 21, 1pm UTC.

VaperCore: The ones calling this game bad are spoiled and had great childhoods with the originals.
No seriously. That The Dig fossile puzzle. That god damn thing alone could RUIN a childhood outright. ;)

Linko90:
Dear Linko90, please consider completing the wishlist entries for Full Throttle (https://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/full_throttle) and Day Of The Tentacle (https://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/maniac_mansion_day_of_the_tentacle_1). The fact of the matter is, those entries no longer serve their original purpose, as the vast majority of voters have had their wishes answered by the Double Fine remakes, which include the originals. Leaving the entries up is confusing and misleading. It doesn't make any sense for the 10th and 17th highest entries on the wishlist to be games that are already available in your store. For people who still want standalone original versions for one reason or another, wishlist entries have already been created for just that purpose:

You got all Monkey Islands games so... when you gonna rebrand to GrOG?
Okay GOG, I probably might buy this game eventually, seeing as I never had the chance to play this entry and it's not found DRM-free (or even DRM'd, but then I wouldn't buy it anyway) elsewhere. (Still not even close to repairing my trust in GOG to what it was before the profiles fiasco)

I find it weird that people complain so much about that puzzle. I never had trouble with it. Other than three pieces that could be swapped and visually still result in a believable creature, all the pieces were obvious to me. I always solved it in three attempts or less.

The observatory one however really did annoy me back then. You have to position the moon and sun in order to create an eclipse. Then after you think you got it right you walk two dozen screens to discover that, nope, you didn't get them right. Walk back and try again for the fifth time. ¬¬* (Tho when I played it again last year I had no problems getting it right)

END OF SPOILERS
It's Monkey Island. It can't be bad.....

There's a little cutscene when you get it right... though I guess you'd have no way of knowing that the first time.
Nice to see the absolute worst Monkey Island game that Lucasarts made. Still have the big box version somewhere, really hated this game that really did some hammy changes to the Monkey Island lore.

I wish Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine is next to arrive to GOG from the Lucasarts archives at Disney.

gixgox: GOG you made an old, adventurous pointer-'n-clicker happy again.
_Now_ I am curious about your age.
Weird to see people complain about the price. $7.50 if you own the other games, pretty cheap if you ask me. Never finished this game back in the day as I hated the controls. Just played an hour with a gamepad this time... controls still suck. Still, I'm not as... what's the word... cranky about such things nowadays? So I feel like I'll finish it this time. The wit and style are there so far, if you ask me.
Nice release! ^_^
It's missing a file and so this prevents it from running in ResidualVM. The file is called FullMonkeyMap.imt and there is a file on this name on both CDs on the original, Residual needs both.

With that in mind, what wizardry did GOG perform to get this running?

Don't tell anybody!
Didn't realize this just came out, looking forward to finally playing it and maybe finishing it too!

Regarding controller support for Escape MI and other games, what types of controllers are supported? I couldn't find any specific FAQs on controller support for GOG games and curious what people are using. I have access to my old school PS3 controllers as well as a Xbox One controller. Do those work? Any gotchas or things I need to be aware of , or dare I say buy adapters or a new controller?

Thanks!

GOG.com: Escape from Monkey Island™ is now available DRM-free, only on GOG.com.
This is a clear buy for me. EMI isn't as good as CMI or MI2, but it's easily as good as MI1 and much better than the dull mess that TTG produced.

With this release, I no longer need to hold on to any of my Monkey Island physical media.
This release has a lot of issue. I hoped that GOG somehow made it work and tested it, but that's not the case. Just the old installation without the cd requirement.
