I wish that they would include the original version with the remaster as an added bonus, sort of like with System Shock

Agreed.

While I appreciate the fact that the remastered edition's graphics are simply up-rezzed rather than horrible like the Monkey Island ones, they're useless to me. My desktop runs only Linux and my mobile device is a non-Android ARM Linux gizmo called an OpenPandora. If it's not ScummVM-compatible, it's not what I want.

For the Monkey Island games, I was lucky. There are the "Ultimate Talkie Edition Builder" scripts, which produce ScummVM-compatible output... but I still had to borrow a Windows box because there's no open-source converter for that specific WMA dialect and it didn't want to run in Wine.
