Sailing the Uncharted Seas

Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas, a delightfully colorful action RPG, is available now for Windows - DRM-free on GOG.com with a 20% launch discount.

Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas started out as a mobile game, but don't quit reading here. It was one of those titles that somehow made it to mobile devices first, despite the fact that its scope and graphics seemed to be more fitting for a bigger, more standard gaming device. Oceanhorn quickly became one of the highest rated, and most critically acclaimed mobile games recently released - the biggest criticisms seemed to lie somewhere along the lines of "It would be better on PC" and "It's a bit too similar to The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker and A Link to the Past". How's that for a humblebrag?

Sail off on a charming, beautiful action adventure in Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas - available now, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 20% launch discount will last for one week, until Tuesday, March 24, at 12:59 PM GMT.

djdarko: This game looks so similar to Zelda: Wind Waker that I'm surpised that Nintendo hasn't started a lawsuit yet.
A lawsuit based on what? Taking over some basic Zelda gamepay elements? Say it looks like The Wind Waker is kinda far stretched.

I think the point was that Nintendo would sue anyone anywhere.

They are worse than Gene Simmons and Prince when it comes to copywrite. :P

Some basic gameplay elements? The game looks almost identical to Wind Waker, all of the graphic stylizing, the enemy design, even the jumping animations and camera movements look directly copied.

The only thing that didn't look copied was the fact that he is able to pick up a log in the game, and maybe that's in Wind Waker too and I just don't remember.
Interesting. I saw this some time ago, and to date it has been the only game that ever made me wish I had an iOS device. to play it on. Will have to get this one eventually, but I simply have too much to play right now.

No one is worse then King Games. They also had a copyright on the word 'Candy' for Pete's sake. ;)

Who is writing these?
- sounds like another "Good news" post.

...Actually, sounds like yer trying to convice yerselves - not us! O_____o

Game looks okay though.
Typical "waiting for reviews"-title; could be a real BURNER, but could be a huge disaster!
(if it´s just trying to be a ripoff it´shit. If it´s a successful ripoff, it would already be good and if it would be BETTER it could rock the house!)
Never heard of it, so it will have to wait until some proper opinions filter in. Looks jolly enough, though. :)
Yeah, it really looks similar to modern Zelda games (or not).
Anyway, the graphics looks fantastic.

Glad to see this here. From what I've heard, it's one of the better mobile games to come out in a while. I hate playing games on my phone though so I'm glad to be able to give it a shot on my PC. Plus I'm a sucker for anything resembling Zelda.
Ahhhh, Wind Waker flashbacks! Get it off, get it off. *runsincirclesinpanic*
Hmm, Zelda clone? Yes please!

Wishlisted :)
So... does the level design resemble Evoland and ittle dew or is it more complex?

I'm still wary of mobile ports. Also isn't this much more expensive than the mobile version?
