ChristophWr: No proper character creator – you’re forced to play “Phyre”, a fixed protagonist.
-Limited roleplay freedom – your backstory, voice, and personality are predefined.
-Weak connection to the original – atmosphere, clan culture, and RPG depth seem watered down.
-Style over substance – lots of cinematic flair, but little shown in terms of meaningful choice or consequence.
-Feels more like a generic story-driven action title than a true Vampire: The Masquerade RPG.

This isn’t the Bloodlines fans waited 20 years for.

Easy pass for me
Eww to all of that. I was excited. Now I'm just meh.
Yeah, I'm gonna wait for a lot of reviews before I decide whether I'll be getting this one. I've put it in my main wishlist for now, but may move it into my "low priority" one later.

And as paladin181 asked, which clans? Clan Nos here!

Edit: this was answered just as I hit Enter. Yeah, no Nosferatu :(

NuffCatnip: Only 4 playable clans, with 2 locked behind the most expensive edition...Paradox being Paradox. :/

Well, not like I was going to get the game immediately anyway, it sadly doesn't look appealing to me. It looks nothing like the original.

paladin181: 4 playable clans? What? Which ones? Will I be able to us Malkavian, Gangrel or Nosferatu?
No, no and sadly no.
Banu Haqim, Brujah, Tremere and Ventrue are the non premium playable clans.
Except for Tremere they are all boring (to me at least).

Edit: Funnily enough you mentioned all the clans I finished vanilla Bloodlines with, I did a couple modded playthroughs too. :)

Behold the totally distinct and definitely not ambiguous choice for the male and female protagonist:

No Malk, no Nosferatu.

And with the DLC it is 6 clans.
Burjah, Banu Haqim, Tremere, Venture, Toreador and Lasombra.

And to be honest, I wouldn't hold my breath for Malk, because it would need a complete rewrite + new voiceover from all characters who need to address your insanity at last to some degree.
And Nosferatu - would most likely need a rebuild of the levels...

But you can buy the Santa Monica DLC with the Ankaran Sarcophagus and a Voerman Sister Portrait.

HAHA.

This are my favorites. More beastly and mentally unstable than the others. Makes for a more fun playthrough.
If you don't mind spoilers here is a gameplay video (about 2h):

Nah, I'll wait for the reviews.

mqstout: No, thanks. I'll be waiting.

I preordered once. Years ago. When it was apparently an entirely different product than it is now. I refunded that.

I have to wait to see what this game even turned out to be.
I will also wait until both 'promised' faction DLC and the one announced in this news are released. This is because if the game flops, Paradox will likely shut it down entirely, and neither DLC, bugfixes and patches will ever see the light of day.

Technically, there are 5 playable clans, because MC is Malkavian.

We all thirst for new blood but must be careful that it is not type 0 Rh- ...
Looks very promising! Looking forward to it.

It's cool to have Lasombra and Toreador as playable, but missing Malks is a pity.

You can play as a Malkavian...

Look up spoilers if you're curious.

That voice in your head doesn't really count as playing full Malkavian. Unless I missed something? Compare to how Malkavians are handled in the original Bloodlines. All dialogues have specialty.

That companion is not a bad concept in general though.
