TheDudeLebowski: I don't understand why everyone is so upset.

It's a game about vampires. It's supposed to suck.

I'll see myself out.
I lol'd I upvoted! x^D

idbeholdME: Could be a passable game (ignoring the day 1 DLC....), just not Bloodlines at all.

I had said it when it was originally announced and I will say it again - the biggest mistake they could have done was naming it Bloodlines 2. And they went ahead and did it anyway.
I already expect it to be a disappointment as successor to Bloodlines but if it is still a good game and I might play it.
Looks like Lasombra and Toreador will be in the base game now. The Gog page has yet to be updated.
That was the only logical move really, you don't want the bad PR after such a rocky development and controversial changes in gameplay/genre, even Paradox is smarter than that
Well, this is a game that is gonna need all the help it can get.

They're still not including the best clans of Gangrel, Malkavian, and Nosferatu.
Good move. Story expansions is a better idea for extras than clan add-ons.

If they'll do it like in the original Bloodlines, with Malk and Nosferatu basically getting a different game, that would make sense to be a DLC. But no clan getting the "regular" gameplay should be.
GOG page seems updated.
As i see it now, Standard got all clans now.
Deluxe got cosmetic pack
Premium got cosmetic pack and expansion pass

1 DLC available on launch, 2 more next year.

Of course the whole DLC mentality is a "hidden price increase" because lets be honest: They could just wait for the release until they are completely finish or simply add those DLCs for free. In the end... it is simply a "2 class gamer-society" those who can not afford "the full price" and those who can. The full price is over 100 USD for me, certainly much cheaper on other "regions".

No matter the price, the game simply need to be "worth it". I mean, a game at the scale of Baldurs Gate 3, Cyberpunk or Witcher 3 is worth a "peak-price-tag" but i dunno how it looks for Bloodlines 2, which is rather in the AA territory.

It undeseverdly and deviously still is wearing a skin suit, trying to pose as something it demonstrably isn't.
This is NOT a Bloodlines VTM RPG let alone the sequel to the original Bloodlines.

Hard pass here, until this can be grabbed from the bargain bin, for a DEEP discount.
Your opinion is known since the second post, not surprising at this point.
What matters more to me than "if it is actually a real Bloodlines": What is actually the intention of this Remake or Anti-Remake or actually some black-sheep-continuation, but in the end what matters the most is if it is a good game. Only time may tell... at least the matter of being "well done".

Obviously, this game may not convince any "hardcore-classic-enthusiast", rather the modern crowd looking for some modernized game.

What i know from the publisher (not the dev, mind it) is that they surely love DLCs and a good purse is recommended, unless for extremely dated (their opinion it seems)... i mean classic... titles. On the other hand, this publisher is known for providing pretty "massive" games with a certain amount of gameplay inside, so in many cases worth a premium. However, considering the costs involved, the game is more toward "AA" but... the same can be said for "Expedition 33" and it has become a great game it seems, beating many AAA without issues. So, many devs/publishers are less into AAA those days because it may not grant them a sufficient "ROI"... so it seems like we may see many Indies as usual and a even bigger force of AA-titles, instead of AAA. Nothing to do with its quality, but rather "how much of a game price is fair", for a game not the biggest budget-breaker on dev costs. Anyway, just as i said, so far no one can say if it may become good. No clue about the devs... but it seems one of their biggest projects so far.

Their website it seems: https://www.thechineseroom.co.uk/the-chinese-room

Let me get this straight. If this turns out to be a truly great game, a GOTY candidate that reinvents and reinvigorates gaming with all the bells and whistles, you still wouldn’t buy it… just because, in your mind, it has the wrong title?
That'd be correct, yes.

As far as I'm concerned there simply is no ignoring all the highly questionable and objectionable shit Paradox pulled leading up to the cancellation of the Hardsuit Labs version.

Keeping and not replacing "Bloodlines 2" with something else to properly acknowledge/reflect the Chinese Room's version's restarted direction away from action RPG to action-adventure just goes to show Paradox' spiteful unwillingness to honour the original Bloodlines with a true sequel it deserves even more.

Apologies for the non-conform wrong-think, but I don't see why one should reward such behaviour by shelling out the full price of 60 eurodollars (or your regional equivalent) or even pay anything at all, especially after even more shit Paradox tried to pull with the previously premium-locked clans. If you already forgot about that you probably should get yourself tested for short-term as well as long-term memory issues.

You do you, but I for one will not fall for this deception.

I will never understand people.

Basically, what you care about is the brand, not the product.

My standards are much simpler: if it’s a good product, I’ll buy it. If it’s a bad one, I won’t. Who cares what the package is called?

But yes, you do you, I guess.
