Wasn't the 'ultimate' edition of Pillars of Eternity $120 when it came out?

cal74: 2 questions for any GOG / Inxile insiders here:

- For people who backed the game on Kickstarter (in my case, the "True Believer" tier), which version will we receive a key for on GOG?

- I assume that backing the project and asking for a GOG key will not be considered as a pre-order and grant a free copy of Lords of Xulima but it's always worth asking ;)

Anyway, I can't wait to put my fingers on the game.

sear: The digital goodies will be available via our web site for backers, not sure if we'll have specific "edition" keys for GOG and Steam though. We did this for Wasteland 2, but for Torment our backer and store versions don't quite line up in terms of price/contents the same way. Will need to look into that more and see what our options are.

And yes, if you have already claimed your Steam key for Early Access, we're looking into offering an exchange option.
Please consider upgrade packages - many people would love to pre-order the base game and upgrade later for the bonus content. Instead, those of us interested in this will just wait, while we'd have instabought the game otherwise.

Let's see:

- announces console version of the game nobody asked for
- promises that the PC version won't suffer from consolitis while the UI and HUD of the PC version look like they have been designed for TV screen-couch scenarios
- comes out of the woodwork after months of no proper communication and, one month before release admits to having cut promised stretch goals (companions, area extensions, italian localization, etc)
- promises to look into possibly delivering the cut content via patches, DLCs or expansions

So why exactly should I pre-order let alone buy an essentially incomplete product again?
well, that was a slighly little bitt misleading.... It would be better to have "and" instead of a "+" there....

For some reason I'm recalling $90 for the Royal edition, but maybe my memory is bad.

We're investigating that for sure.

Could be, I just remember being flabbergasted back then with the price.

Er, I'm pretty sure there's a significant interest in a console version, or they wouldn't bother developing one ( or several ), now would they?

Being careful about pre-orders is generally the smart choice, though.
Glad to see it here, not pre-ordering, nothing in the other versions holds my interest.
High price for a few digital extras...no thanks,...wish you luck with it all the same.

No, it was $90.

It still is.

That's been the high-water mark for GOG pricing.
I have a really high expectation for this game. Hope it's as good as they say
question

i backed this game years ago (and i mean "yearssss" ago) on KS
i dont rememnber if the KS campaign mentionned a GOG version or not, though this was one of the few games i was ready to make an exception

Question:
As a Kickstarter backer of the basic tier (digital version of the game...) would i get to choose my version/get a GOG key ? or I would have to buy it again on GOG as if nothing happened ?

btw, hey blues, can we make this guy a gold?

Give 'em a buzz, sear, and get yourself goldified.

Yes, but you'll have to wait for the game's release to do so.
Backers who are interested in a DRM-free copy from GOG will be able to exchange their Steam key after final release.
