This is one of the side effects of the buggy system GOG has for all the different versions of the game, and specially for kickstarter ones. And one that could affect me a lot.

I didn't get a gift code; I got the game. And the Pinata FAQ clearly states that we should not be getting games we already own unless we already own all the games in the pool. I own maybe two of the games others have already confirmed are in the pool. But thanks for the suggestion.

Piñatas are randomly drawn from a pool of hand-picked games, each a full and standalone title – that means no DLC, soundtracks, or other non-game content.

You can get deluxe versions of games you already own, though. It happened to me.

I would almost understand if they had given me other than the Hero Edition. But that is the actual edition I own and always have owned. Maybe the system bugged because I bought it as a preorder? But I did preorder it here; I didn't Kickstart it. Don't know. Hope they give me a new Pinata, though.

A certain delay between buying the pinata and it showing up in the hub seems to remain. I bought one and it still shows zero. It does show up in my order history, so I am not worried.

That's a problem that GOG hasn't bother to fix for several years. All different editions of each game are regarded as completely separate, even if you have the base edition and the upgrade DLC it still displays the complete editions as unowned.

I'm not sure if it is laziness, incompetence or malice.

Edit: I've just noticed that you wrote the same thing a few posts later…

That's not terrible, regular price $14.99 - so ~ 80% off . . . unless it's a game you really don't care for.
