Rusty_Gunn: from what I recall that was because other digital stores often encrypted the executable files so programs like the code patch couldn't work.

rtcvb32: Yeah that would make them have issues... But if Bethesda just removed the CD check for GoG, then that would make it a superior version to the steam one... (i think?)
Being DRM free, it already makes it superior to the Steam version in my humble opinion, but that the 3rd party patch (and it took several steps on installation) worked without any issue was pretty cool.

Yes, it would.
Apart from being DRM-free the GOG version also includes the Construction Set that you otherwise would have to download from Nexusmods.

You know, I didn't even notice --that rocks.

I vaguely remember the construction set always being installed (it was like 2 Megs total)... The difference with the Construction Set CD included bmp's of all the textures and names of the nif files; These then were fed into it's base packed files, which silently changed from bmp to dds...

Crosmando: Morrowind Overhaul is out of date, I'm personally just going to wait till the guy gets around to updating it before installing GOG morrowind version.
Will he update it, however? 3.0 seemed quite final.
Also, the dev still wanted to create the GameExperience pack with gameplay fixes, but he disappeared. I was mostly interested in that :\
I've used it on the Steam version for years, works just fine.
I'm not sure if it will ever be updated though, I remember checking the forums when it was first released and back then he was talking about hotfixes and/or a 3.1 update for some of the issues.
