Hi All,

Never played morrowing before - so wondering what the best mods packages there are?

I see some like the morrowind overhaul seem to cause bugs with missing loot etc.

Also I am looking for mods that enhance the gameplay more vs graphics - although that would be good too.... t

thnx

Well, "best" is subjective. The big ones are Rebirth which fills out the towns and outsides, and Overhaul which ups the graphics a fair bit. I personally would play with those as base, then add anything on top, e.g. quests or whatever. Have a look at Nexus Morrowind mods:
http://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/?
You can ignore a lot of them as the graphics updates is done by the Overhaul.

Oh, and a tip, you may want to use a small cheat - press tilde to get the console up and I think it is set speed 100. Otherwise you will be walking around for hours as the walking speed is really slow and only updated by levelling up, although if you want to remain in character there is a character northwards on the road which has boots of speed.

Either way, prepare for many hours of fun!

You should take a look at these threads:

http://www.gog.com/forum/elder_scrolls_series/reccommended_mods

I don't know anything about missing loot in the Morrowind Overhaul but there are a few missing meshes and textures. I posted a link to a fix for that issue in the first thread .:)

thanks all
A while back i'm reminded of a whole patchlist of mods and things that you could install, most of them were harmless upgrades to graphics, some were balance fixers... BTB's mods i think, although glancing at the list i'm wondering how many of them might still be linked to PES...
Why do people keep saying Morrowing :/

Anyway - get the "run faster mod" . That's a must .

A mod to remove Cliff Racers from the game. Trust me. You will thank me later and name your first born monkeydelarge later after you realize the torture you've been spared from, thanks to me(IF YOU DECIDED TO LISTEN TO ME).

He will never appreciate it fully without a prior playthrough with the full Cliff Racer experience. ;)

But to answer the OP's question, I found Morrowind to be perfectly playable without any mods. Well, except the one that removes all Cliff Racers... I also installed a house mod for Balmora, but such things are purely cosmetic.

The Cliff Racer experience. LOL The Morrowind version of the cinnamon challenge except 100 times worse? I find it amusing when people call something really horrible an "experience" or "challenge". It makes the "something", very insidious because it makes some people start to think it is harmless.

Well I tried the morroblivion mod craziness (https://tesrenewal.com/). It made the UI and graphics like those in oblivion, which was really nice. HOWEVER, you have to jump through a lot of hoops to get the damn thing installed, need to own Oblivion and it made my framerates go to crap. Would I recommend? Meh, maybe if you have a really good computer where the rate wont drop? That was a huge deal breaker for me. If I had a better computer that could handle it, I'd definitely try it again.

Oh and totally follow Licurg's advice and get a running mod. you will go insane without it. I've gotten most of my mods from Nexus, which was mentioned earlier.

From what I've read, it might be fun to play with Cliff Racers. You just need to have suitable spells:

1. A weak levitate spell that affects an area. This will apparently cause the Cliff Racers to fall and take falling damage.

2. An Absorb Health 1 point for a good duration to an area. If you can hit 13 Cliff Racers with one cast, you are now recovering 13 hit points per second as long as the spell lasts.

(Maybe others? Just make sure they target areas so you can hit multiple Cliff Racers with a single spell.)
Galsiah's Character Development

By far the most important mod you can install and one you want to install right away as you'll need to start a new game to use it. It completely rewrites levelling. Practically removes levelling actually. Instead you gain skills by actually using them.
