Well, Neverwinter Nights 2 Complete goes to join the Big Gifting-Lock in Heaven.

Edit: Those Saints were too troublesome and got locked as well.

HypersomniacLive: Emm... does this mean that with the new higher priced games being restricted, the attack has moved to new lower priced games?
I can't see this end anywhere but getting the whole catalogue restricted, except perhaps for the Sensible Soccer games.
don't worry every flat priced game has a magical resistence against being bought with fraud cc's

toxicTom: Any idea how to prevent fraud? This is not about piracy (I think all GOG games are available via torrent sites), but about gullible customers buying stolen keys from shady sites. How to prevent this (without DRM of course)? Solving this problem would actually prove "crowd intelligence" :-)
How does Steam solve this? Anybody know?
You can still gift Sacrifice, so there's no point in being worried about anything .

so you bought 100 sacrifice gift keys, just for being stocked if sacrifice gets locked too?

budejovice: That purple Galaxy banner on the front page might be put to better use thusly: "DO NOT BUY GOG KEYS AT G2A"
This sounds like a job for: CSS Santa!

.galaxy-banner__section--logo:after {
content: "DO NOT BUY GOG KEYS AT G2A!";
padding: 7px 80px 8px;
font-size: 20px;
font-weight: 600;
line-height: 24px;
color: #F6D4FF;
display: block;
text-shadow: 1px 1px rgba(0,0,0,.8);
text-align: center;
}

.galaxy-banner__section--logo:before, .galaxy-banner__section--text {
display: none;
}

I don't have the banner displayed myself, but if you'd prefer to replace it with something, just put whatever you want between the quotes following "content:". This is not limited to text. To use an image, use:

content: url("URL");

For example:
content: url("http://images-2.gog.com/79429e097ac499290497415f13c0a1747a07659fc7b53f8cc07f1b0afd569333_800.jpg");

This is, of course, completely useless to anyone. But it can provide a nice, custom welcome message if you want to feel like GOG is talking to you, or is self-conscious. For example:

content: "Hello, Dave. Welcome back. I have disabled gifting. It made my ass look fat.";

or

content: "Oh hey, you! Oh, you wanted to get a 'gift'? You know what, I'm kinda tired today. Let's do this tomorrow night instead, OK? Come back tomorrow. I have a headache.";

Though as I've said before, any attempt at tinkering with GOG WILL cause it to explode. So don't do it, kids. Stay away from forest fires, too. Kids don't let bears start fires or something.

Konrad: These particular limitations are just a temporary measure, and they will be removed as soon as possible.

stg83: Sure, "just a temporary measure" while more games keep getting added to the list with no further explanation or details from your side.
There is an entry on the wishlist now about better communication from GOG. I encourage everyone to vote. We desrve to get proper infromation on what's going on.

Voted, as I would definitely like to see more transparency and public announcements regarding major changes on website like gift locking. Hopefully if enough people vote on this very reasonable request then GOG will actually improve in that regard.

Voted. And I'm sad that I can't vote a thousand times!

Probably. It's Grargar after all. ;)

vanchann: So GOG has been implementing new features:

- Library built around a heavy loaded client that is a really bad backup downloader.

IronArcturus: This is all too true. Many are being hit by the Galaxy-DRM from GOG. In the case of Necrodancer, if the game thinks Galaxy is installed on a computer, even if it's not listed in the Registry or Services, the game will not launch at all. This is proved in the logs which list "GoG: Initializing galaxy API."

I've sent messages to Support asking them if there was a way to get the game to not load or detect Galaxy, and they said it wasn't possible. They won't even tell the game devs to create a Windows version that doesn't need Galaxy. Support kept telling me to "install the Galaxy Client" to get the game to work, even though I do not want to install a client on my computer.

GOG, what has happened to you? You used to be the bastion of the DRM-free world, and now you're turning your back on all of your supporters. :(
Support told you this? I contacted support with the same issue. If you had previously installed Galaxy:

Open the command prompt and type:
sc delete GalaxyClientService
sc delete GalaxyCommunication

It should work after that - worked perfectly for me :)
Is Morrowind gift restricted?

I tried to buy it as a gift and it says my card payment failed. However I am using the same card that succeed in purchasing Morrowind on release day 2/3 days ago.

It does not have the gifting disable icon as the fallout series do so I am wondering if it is my card problem or GoG fail to put up the gifting disable icon since fallout gifting is disabled too.
