I made a long post debunking the flaws in the Broken Sword 2 devs' quoted reply, but then I didn't post it because I wasn't sure if this thread was the correct place to post it, since those devs might never read this thread.

And then I realized a new problem of the same nature has just cropped up in regards to the Terminal Cut versions of BloodRayne 1 and also BloodRayne 2.

They were recently given Steam Achievements, yet not given any Galaxy Achievements.

So, the Ziggurat devs should probably be contacted about that and asked if they have any intention to give GOG customers feature parity. Otherwise, if not, then GOG customers will have retroactively become second-class citizens in regards to those games.

EDIT: After making this post, I went and read the GOG BloodRayne board, and a customer there said Achievements have been added to the GOG version of BR1, but that they are invisible (according to that post). And that post doesn't saying anything about if the GOG version of BR2 has them or not.

And neither of the GOG store pages for those games have been updated to list them.

So maybe this is not an example of the Ziggurat devs neglecting GOG, but anyhow, further clarification about these matters is required (i.e. do those games both now have functional Achievements on GOG, or not? And if not, when will they?).

As you can see on the screenshot that I have uploaded in the game forum, BR1 has working achievements on GOG. Unfortunately they're still invisible before unlocking. :(
The achievements for BR2 aren't working on Steam yet. So we have to wait until the next update to confirm if the GOG version has them too.
Can some of you who have been successful in getting developers to add achievements to their games on GOG maybe share some tips or insights on how you approached those conversations with them? Also, what kind of message is usually more successful in even getting a response? The ones I've contacted so far either didn't respond at all, or even if they did, haven't done anything about the situation. Just want to figure out if there is a "best way" to communicate the message of adding achievements on GOG, especially in the cases where they already have implemented them on Steam.

Unfortunately, there is no real magic formula and it varies greatly from person to person, but there are some tricks that I have noticed can be helpful:

1. Obviously asking politely and complimenting the game itself is always a good start.
2. The more time passes, the less likely the developers will want to come back to work on the game. So it's best to contact them right at the game's launch, or at revivals and big upcoming updates.
3. Try to contact the bigwigs who make the decisions, not the underlings. This is easy enough with indie games, when a few developers are running the whole thing, but it's unfortunately impossible in cases of big publishers. When it's an unknown support guy who answers you and tells you that he passes the information on to someone else there is little you can do.
4. Provide links to official GOG documentation to show that it is a more than doable job:
https://docs.gog.com/sdk-steam-import/
https://docs.gog.com/steam-sdk-wrapper/
5. Point out to them that you paid the same amount for the game as Steam users and you'd like the same treatment.
6. If they don't answer, copy, paste and resend the email several times. They may have lost the email or not had time to respond and forgot.
That said, success rates remain very low, probably 1%, so the only option is to shoot in the pile until you are successful.

Just to confirm - the achievements of BloodRayne 2: Terminal Cut are working now. :)
Still invisible though. xD

Did you contact the developers to let them know achievements mode needs to be set to Production? If you can't get through to them, you can open a support ticket instead.

No, not yet. I just want to wait for the announced official announcement. xD

I see. The fact that they're visible on the Steam store page gives the wrong impression.
I just noticed that House Flipper is without 23 achievements, namely those related to the newest DLCs, Pets and Luxury.
Kynseed has no achievements (70).

Thanks, this particularly saddens me because it's a game I was interested in, hopefully it's just a setback and they'll think about implementing them later.

Unfortunately, with Kynseed we passed 150 games released during 2022 that have achievements on Steam but not on GOG, which is the worst record ever since GOG has existed. The number of games released annually has increased significantly, and I don't have a percentage figure yet, but it's still a bad sign.

----

By the way, for those of you who haven't noticed, there is a tab on the spreadsheet with a chart that takes into account precisely the games released annually on GOG without achievements, but which have them on Steam. As you can see, by now the sky's the limit.
King of Seas:

- Has achievements but "invisible" (only see what you unlocked in galaxy, but you can't see what is still locked)
- I completed 2 playthroughs, one on 3rd highest difficulty and one on the highest difficulty .. there are 5 difficulties
- On other platforms it has 29 achievements, I managed to unlock 24 achievements .. however non of the 5 difficulty related achievements unlocked for me

I hope another player can confirm if those 5 are indeed broken or something is up with my game.

Btw one of the 24 achievements that I have unlocked (when I finished the first playthrough) is "This is the life for me - Complete your first game" .. I believe difficulty achievement(s) should have unlocked at the same time as that one.
Galaxy achievements appear to be added to the 3 Risen games, once it's confirmed they're working they can be removed from the list. :)

Also, it's not indicated on the game card at all but Power of Ten does have Galaxy achievements.

Also I think the new released version of Risen 1 for Nintendo Switch (add controller support and some other things) will be released for PC according to a developer on the steam forums.I assume it will also launch on GOG since we got the achivements.
