Finally, the sky is within our grasp! Did you reach out to it already? Are you planning on doing so during the weekend? Well go on, show us how your universe looks like!

Every planet in the vast, boundless galaxy of No Man's Sky is a unique ecosystem, with different vistas, creatures, and environmental conditions greeting each and every one of us when we begin our adventure.

So to all you explorers out there: capture these opening moments of your journey in a one-minute video or grab some luscious screenshots and share them here with the rest of us spacefarers.

So, GOGarins, how does your universe look like?
I've managed to collect some stuff, identify loads of things and creatures and meet some people, learn some words and repair my ship. Made it to a new world that's pretty radioactive and now I'm being asked to reward a frog-looking guy for using deodorant. So far the biggest threat has come from a bunch of arachnid pasties.

EDIT: refund for double payment received. Wow, GOG support is leagues better than it used to be.

I just latched on to naming everything I've discovered. So quite a few things now have awesome new names and I'm getting paid game money to do it too. Would be better if I could actually send the names in, but there seems to be a server connection problem at the moment.

My universe looks fine, but then again I am playing a different game.
I hope they fix it soon. Glad I didn't buy it. Looking forward to buy it in the future, patched, fixed and by that time, at a lower price.
Good thing I don't even meet the min system specs. Not even remotely tempted to buy for the time being.

I'll be exploring the subterranean wasteland of Underrail instead. I started way too late last night, and once I set up my character I ended up dozing off during the turtorial. Heh. Anything text-heavy will do that to me when sleepy. I'll give it a proper go again after work today.

Well apparently I'm lucky in that it works, although for some reason it defaulted to starting in windowed mode which may be why some people are experiencing performance issues: once I switched to full screen it started running smooth as silk in 4K (980 Ti),

Still, if you're having difficulty starting it don't worry: after two and a half hours I'm kinda bored with it already -- collect resources to upgrade ship/equipment, gather/craft fuel for ship, fly to next planet, repeat. Sure, there may be 2^64 planets to explore, but they're not really *different* -- each planet is functionally identical; same resources, same kinds of buildings, and the only real difference is the colour and which of your stats it eats away at while you're walking (which, again, makes no practical difference).

Big fat letdown; I've played more imaginative, interesting, and satisfying crafting/survival games in Steam Early Access.

(Annoyingly this forum limits images to 500K or less, so sharing 4K screenshots is tricky. I've attached a couple of over-compressed JPEGs, but asking us to show what our universe looks like then forcing us to do so in low quality is daft.)

Does anybody know how to rename? To have my ingame character (or ingame anything) running around with my gog forum name is annoying like hell.

I'm trying to force myself through Dead Space (which is supposed to be the unofficial System Shock 3 or something...) and good God it's booooring. I played about 4 hours on my laptop which had terribly lagging mouse controls. After I installed it on my gaming rig (which doesn't suffer from this lag), I decided after 10 minutes that I'll just copy my save files instead of suffering through the same dull shit over again. I'm about 1/3 through the game and I just want it to end. I'm not even motivated to continue, I'm just... compelled to see it through because I'd like to know what the fuzz is all about. Just a moment ago this game threw a turret section at me. A freakin' turret section! This is supposed to be some 9,5/10 masterstroke and instead even the video game adaptation of The Thing is creepier and more fun than this.

Oh, someone asked about No Man's Sky? I guess I'll find out when I can get it on sale for $10...

That's ironic plus hilarious. Good luck.

Only people talking out of their asses would claim such things. Officially nobody ever claimed that.

Yeah, but does it have a bidet function?
I heard that it took them 8 years to finish the game. The "day 1 patch" may take a while. :))
I had to crank the settings way down to get the game to run smoothly on my potato. So far I've just discovered a second outpost with a large building, which I might not be able to enter, and nearby is a crevice leading to a huge underground area. Still gotta dig through all the containers nearby and see what I can find. Only saw one harmless looking quadruped on this planet so far and made it happy by feeding it some iron, and I've had to kill two tentacle plants that attacked me when I got too close.

Bleak and deserted.

Kidding, haven't played it. Did watch a stream though. It didn't look that good. =(

mistermumbles: Underrail instead...
Excellent!!! I restarted that game like 5 times (with a few hours play each time) tweaking my character and figuring out the skills I wanted to use / how it all worked. I love it!

I've tried playing the game twice so far and can't make it past 10 minutes without being bored already, and I am farrrrr from having a short attention span or needing things constantly happening or whatever, it's just boring, fast. I intend to give it 1 more try and force myself to play 1 hr and see if my opinion changes.
