yea, galaxy everywhere ... pretty annoying
But it could mean more people buying games here > more money to convince publishers to come aboard DRM-free > more games here.

How much time you guys spend on the forum compared to me? I'm here a LOT, yet I'm not really annoyed.

evilnancyreagan: still

I'll take this new noise over that #modgate kerfuffle the other weekend

It's Gategate!
I feel like Galaxy gets a bad rap just because it's a client... like Steam has ruined the concept completely. I say ignore them, this is for discussion of GOG stuff and Galaxy is part of that now. :P

I am. And, hey, since you're the big wishlist fan. Please vote for my new wishlist item. :)

Edit: Just to be clear, I don't actually mind the client. It's the forum clutter that's driving me mad.

#gaitgate
I may find the constant "friend me plz" threads irritating, but I'm finding the repeat threads from the same few offenders about how they're offended by the very concept of Galaxy and how they'll think twice about spending their money here just as irritaing.

Breja: That is quite an achievement (pun intended). Ok, I was pretty sick of the very idea of Galaxy from the start, but I did not expect it going Beta to be so damn annoying. The whole forum is drowning in threads about it, mostly some pointless "friend me" threads. Even the damn banner on the main page is annoying, the white-on-purple letter make my eyes hurt.

Yes, I know I'm just complaining to complain, many people want Galaxy an this is a transitional period and bla bla bla. I don't care. I just felt that I need to vent. If anyone else needs it to, please join me :) If not, I apologise, move along.

That does it. I'm friending you both!

Well its GOG's own doing since the only way to add friends is by hovering over the avatar on a forum post. This was bound to happen once GOG Galaxy becomes available to more people and we can expect this to increase over the coming days when even more new users get their beta codes.

I don't like the idea of Galaxy, but all I really want from it is for it to just stay out of my way. It's not doing it right now, so I'm annoyed. It' like there is a Rihanna concert here, and although I'm not forced to attend I still hear the damn thing everywhere.

What is this galaxy nonsense I keep hearing about?
I've been fed up with the galaxy way before you all.

I won't lie, whatever GOG's protestations, it is the end of an era. Galaxy brings with it the same heap of implicit copy protection mechanisms that Steam is so awfully proud of. Keeping that out of people's way, how long is that supposed to work out? One year, two? Or just right until the moment people find out that they can expect patches five days earlier when they're doing auto updates?

Thinking twice about spending money here however, that doesn't make much sense. Where would they want to spend their money instead? At the largest Steam key reseller, because they have "DRM free games" somewhere on their attic?

Times of turmoil. :(
