johnki: Supposedly Tower of Guns is tomorrow's game. Pretty psyched for that. The game looks awesome.
Yes, it is confirmed in the developers blog:

Get this game, it is really good.
Tower of Guns is the new game on IndieGameStand - https://indiegamestand.com/

This is a very good game. Still in alpha, but very enjoyable already. It received a new massive update yeasterday, and the next is scheduled on 19th December

Yeah, this one was an instabuy for me.

I'm surprised it's not on Desura, but I guess it doesn't need to be after being greenlit now.
The developer of Tower Of Guns says here that he is interested in releasing the game on GOG (and not Desura) and sent the game to GOG, but it wasn't accepted. Could be it was because of the current "alpha" state of the game?

Anyway, you can vote for this game here: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/tower_of_guns
Tower of Guns not accepted on GOG? Nonsense! I voted on GOG wish-list.

I didn't realise Desura's sole purpose was to be somewhere you sell your game before you're greenlit. Some devs (*couEDGEOFSPACEgh*) do seem to regard it that way though.

Well of course, I don't think GOG sells any unfinished games do they?

LOL ^_^

I already bought it, but I will wait for a more finished state before playing it seriously. But so far, this game looks really good.

Maybe the backlash against Dark Matter is the reason GOG is cautious about releasing games in alpha/beta state though.

I vaguely remember that being released but apparently I completely missed the drama. What happened?

People bought the game, finished it and realised.
A) a shed load of content was cut. The developers said it was because they missed their kickstarter funds. So most of the game, guns and story was cut.
B) The game was able to be finished in only a few hours, before having one of the worst endings in gaming history, and we have Monkey Island 4 to judge it against.

GOG pulled the game, then offered people who had bought the game either a refund / equivalent game, or the right to keep the game in their catalogue.

Go and Youtube Dark Matter ending. You will be disappointed even when you have not played the game (which you will probably never do now).

Ok, sounds like GOG was mislead into believing the game was finished. I should have said they don't intentionally sell unfinished games. :P

Nope, Judas(?) and TET both were on the forums apologising about what had happened and trying to ease peoples grumblings. They explained that although they play the games, they do not always complete them, or even get full versions before release date. So what they saw was good enough for release, what the buying public saw was not.
