Inspired by classic Hack & Slash games like and turn-based RPGs like [url=https://www.gog.com/game/tales_of_majeyal]Tales of Maj’Eyal but with few different twists! Of Blades & Tails aims to be an accessible and entertaining Action-RPG with turn-based combat that allows for quick action or strategic planning. It’s set in an open, fantastic world with lots of places to discover and characters to meet. Now the game’s early access is available on GOG!

In this vibrant, pixel art land you play Reik, a clever member of the tribe of foxes. A chain of unfortunate events involves you in a quest of vital importance to all the peace-loving creatures of the realm. You will have to leave your home village and explore the world to become strong enough to stand up to evil. (In other words: There will be a main storyline but it's still in the making!)

You can join this adventure-in-the-making right now with a 10% discount that lasts until October 26th, 2 PM UTC.

Geralt_of_Rivia: Archon would like to have a word with you. ;-)

Just in case you don't know Archon: That's a turn based board game resembling chess where two game pieces that meet on the same field have to fight over the field.

dtgreene: That, one could argue, would fit into the category of games with multiple combat systems, in a sense.

Or, one could say that the action part is really a minigame, here.

(Also worth looking at Undertale, in this regard.)

Edit: For the record, yes, I have played Archon (NES version, if that matters), but it's been decades.
There are also a few games thats more or less hybrids between Turn based and action
basicly the action itself is on a timer in the battles where the player have to to be more active than a traditonal turn based game and doing less damaga if you miss button presses/movment of the charecter in the timeframe its your turn
Am I the only one who finds the non-animation primitively charming? xD Wishlisted for now. :) Looks promising, nice graphics, lovely music, but needs some polish.

My rep is -200 now somehow.
Some kind of glitch, I think. The rep system has been really buggy since they decided to hide it. I gave you some +1s to try and offset some of your low rep.

Not a glitch. The rep system wasn't removed, just hidden, and someone didn't like one of my posts. I'm pretty sure I know which one. (my rep goes down by 5 each time I've posted.)
