    Description

A turn-based RPG that is action-oriented but rewards a thoughtful approach. Discover a fantastic land populated by different animal tribes.
You play Reik, a clever member of the tribe of foxes. A chain of unfortunate events involves you in a quest of vital importance to all the peace-loving creatures of the realm. You will have to leave your home village and explore the world to become strong enough to stand up to evil. (In other words: There will be a main storyline but it's still in the making!)

The gameplay is inspired by classic Hack & Slays like Diablo and turn-based RPGs like Tales of Maj'Eyal or Stoneshard. However there is no permadeath in this game. It aims to be an accessible and entertaining Action-RPG.
The lore is inspired by the classic Point & Click Adventure Inherit the Earth.

As you explore the land, you'll gain experience and unlock new abilities. Not all inhabitants will be friendly to you. Some will help you with information, others are only interested in trading, and still others will get in your way.
Improve your equipment and collect useful resources in the environment to have a decisive advantage in battle.

    • Turn-based Combat that allows for quick action or strategic planning
    • An Open World with lots of places to discover
    • A fresh, animalistic setting in a vibrant pixel art look
    • Procedural generated dungeons and caves
    • A Main Storyline and various side quests
    • Classless Character Development with many abilities to unlock
    • Equipment of different qualities and Unique Items with special powers
    • Hunt giant bugs or gather herbs and other useful resources
    • Many Enemy Types with different skills that may require tactical decisions
    • Join factions to gain access to even more refined skills and equipment
    • Trade with rats and other profit-seeking animals
    • Multiple Game Modes if you prefer a relaxed or challenging experience
    • ... and more to come!

    Labour of love graphical roguelike

I really like the game so far, after a cursory glance I gave it yesterday. The "cute" style the author went for reminds me of Tangledeep, but I gotta say that this one is even cuter *_*. Furthermore, it seems like it is not one inch less brutal than similar games such as StoneShard (which I consider a good thing), and I probably would've died within the first 30 minutes were I not already rather familiar with traditional roguelikes such as DCSS, Cogmind or CDDA. I found the game really easy to get into, the help sections were accurate (not too long and detailed, not too terse). I'd like to comment on one aspect which is not strictly related to the game but the engine: I really appreciate that more people are starting to use free and open source game engines to produce top notch games, because it shows that success does not depend upon nonfree software. I wish the author the best of luck for his game :)

    A pleasant surprise!

I tried this game on a whim, and HELLO?! Did not expect to get this hooked! This game manages to be both stressful and relaxing at the same time - one moment you're discovering fun little areas, the next you're left wondering how two enemies managed to whack and push you around into 20% health in a single turn..! The game is a little difficult at the beginning, but it eases you in, while still keeping you on your toes from time to time. This is also one of the best Early Access games I've ever tried - it's really easy to jump back in as updates come out, and there's plenty to do already. Excited for more! :D I wish I could do a 4.5 star review, as it's EA and definitely needs some QoL improvements - but 4 felt too little, especially with the dev being so active, so you get a 5 :')

    Exploration and Tactical Combat

I'd imagined an open-world 2D game similar to a "Fallout" or "Elder Scrolls" done on a low budget. This isn't perfect but I still recommend it. Graphics: Decent pixel art with little animation. Music: freeware, and after a while I found how to shut off battle music since there's only one tune for it and it interrupts the nice backgrounds often. Difficulty: Hard by default, tricky even on "Relaxed" mode, but auto-saves most stuff often. Gameplay: Mixes combat and exploration. Combat is interesting once you get into having powers for AOE, movement, stuns, etc. These let you do tricky dodges and traps, more rewarding than just banging into enemies till someone dies. Day/night cycle and tall grass make visibility important in battle. Exploration seems like an open world and has many secrets, but is held back somewhat by a sharp difficulty curve by area and a very linear main quest with no substantial factions' storylines. There's also an item customization system if you're into that, though I didn't use it much and collected tons of overrated "epic" items. Story: A bit disappointing. "We can't help you; go talk to the next guys." I'll just say the endgame didn't feel adequately set up or explained or resolved either. Eh; I had fun anyway. Bugs: A few random crashes when changing areas, at least one status effect (grabby roots) that has a missing description, and right after beating the final boss copies of its corpse kept appearing randomly in other places. No serious trouble. Overall: Worth playing!

Not too good, not that bad.

What this game does, it does well. But holy-fish-moly, you need an iron will to keep playing it. I gave up midway since it's so unnecessarily difficult. And i'm mostly fine with difficult games; I've played Darkest Dungeon and Drova: Forsaken Kin, games similar to this one that are also difficult. HOWEVER. This game seems to enjoy f#cking you in the a## for no reason moreso than any of these others. The difficulty here adds nothing and is just there for the sake of it — and that was playing on the "easiest" difficulty... ... That is, it was difficulty until I chugged a ton of options and face-tanked everything to their death. But as someone that likes stealthing (which is useless in this game) and dislikes depending on potions, it was unsatisfying. I would not refund or give it a lesser score though, since what this game does, it does really well² (like preying on masochists). And the music? Dear lord, it's so lovely. Amongst the best. 4/5, maybe? It left me sore.

    A great simple game

I loved this game! I'm not used to rating or reviewing games, but I'm doing it here because I think it deserves much more attention. For sure, you shouldn't expect AAA standards here. This game does simple things, but most importantly : it does them well! The gameplay loops are well designed, challenging, and rewarding. The adventure is appealing, straightforward, but effective. You can really feel the dedication that the developer put into this game. The only shadow on the picture, in my opinion, is the sound design — it was a relief when I found out you can disable the battle music. I would blindly recommend this game to any RPG or indie game lover.
