An event like this happens only once a year – our Anniversary!

We’ve been here for 17 years; that’s quite a lot of time of making games live forever! For this occasion, we prepared something special: even though it’s our birthday, you’re the one getting gifts. Visit our store every day for a surprise!

And of course, here’s some of the deals:
Cyberpunk 2077 (-65%)
Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition (-60%)
Heroes of Might and Magic® 3: Complete (-50%)
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition (-80%)
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Gold Edition (-35%)
Dungeons & Dragons Neverwinter Nights 2: Enhanced Edition (-25%)
Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon (-10%)

…and more!

Anniversary ends on October 7th, 7 AM UTC. Check it out!

BanditKeith2: For completion sake yes and that they are official rather then using a rom and some random emulator

as for why not stuff like the examples you gave, basically Gog is a business so going for whats likely to bring in the best money from sales and bring in new users. So big name games in someway and well known ones by even the general public is often the best for both cases

Though for me I'd much rather Castlvania collections over any MGS collection

ASnakeNeverDies: I understand GOG is a business. That's precisely why it should try to find something only it can offer.
But who is supposed to buy those unique offers? Recently someone posted a link to the age distribution of the customers here: https://items.gog.com/GOG_NUMBERS/5.png .

33% are 18-25, another 32% 25-34, 19% 35-44 and only 16% are 45+. Does anybody here really believe that gamers who hadn't even been born or where less than 10 years old when those games were released, are interested at all in playing them - at least in the substandard resolution, sound etc. that is way below an entry level smartphone? Of course they are demanding those high res rereleases if they are interested at all in old game concepts without any homogenuity that you mentioned in another post..

No those games are bought by "senior gamers" and "old farts" somewhere in that 19% or 16% fraction, who then are bitching and moaning that GOG asks for more than a couple of dollars for an old game or complain that they search for additional ways to finance that preservation instead of paying it entirely out their revenue from all the other games.

I dunno who's gonna purchase 'em. I just think offering something that was already available is not going to work long term. Folk who care about playing the latest might be somewhere else entirely. GOG only knows.

I didn't say they want to play the latest, but that they might prefer a rerelease (that is available here) over the original. I.'d think that otherwise most people are here for the DRM free games, not necessarily for the old games.

Well, I do care about the DRM-Free nature of the store. However, it's hard to tell what we care about as a community because there's been lots of partnerships and giveaways over the past ten (10) years. The userbase might have grown at the expense of the platform now being torn between conflicting expectations.
