An event like this happens only once a year – our Anniversary!

We’ve been here for 17 years; that’s quite a lot of time of making games live forever! For this occasion, we prepared something special: even though it’s our birthday, you’re the one getting gifts. Visit our store every day for a surprise!

And of course, here’s some of the deals:
Cyberpunk 2077 (-65%)
Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition (-60%)
Heroes of Might and Magic® 3: Complete (-50%)
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition (-80%)
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Gold Edition (-35%)
Dungeons & Dragons Neverwinter Nights 2: Enhanced Edition (-25%)
Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon (-10%)

…and more!

Anniversary ends on October 7th, 7 AM UTC. Check it out!

Happy for people that wanted Silent Hill f.
The price though.

Personally i wanted the original PC version of SH2, have the Ps2 version, but only in PAL region.
Annoying 50hz bs. And good luck getting a american copy for a good price.

Still kinda miffed about the whole anniversary. Guess im too old school of wanting old games again.

80 euros...the modern gaming industry, am I right?
It's not what I was hoping for, but a new entry on the store is always nice to see and I'm sure there's plenty of people who are happy to round out their Silent Hill collection.

Now GOG just needs to add Silent Hill 1, 3 and those American entries to fill in the gaps.
Seeing only game 2 and 4 triggers my OCD.

apart from expedition 33 - which is great that you folks got - this anniversary has largely been a bust for me, personally.

to make this post a little more concrete:

nothing about this seemed like a celebration of anything. it seemed like, "here's a discount." or "here's some throwaway thing."

this coupled with gog basically giving up on talking about the anniversary at all [which was probably the most strategically correct thing they could have done, really] made it feel like a massive, massive non-event.

you may as well just have had a regular sale that was decoupled from the anniversary entirely.

anyhow. onward to our regularly scheduled programming we go, i guess.

A real Silent Hill game like the OG Silent Hill 2 would have been much preferred for me too. Also solidarity from an Aussie, I lived through the 50hz dark ages too.

Now that GOG.com has brought us Silent Hill f I can only hope that they add it to the preservation program, since someone has to undertake the task of tweaking UE5 to guarantee it runs properly.

I've not heard of that place before. I guess this is something to look into. I see some familiar stuff. Out of this entire event, silver lining, I guess.

Imagine having to pay full price for Whale Rock games...

Well, I think the releases were notable, with CO33 being the standout title, and multiple big name releases, plus a bunch of indies, lumped into a short amount of time is definitely unusual for GOG. So I'd call it a particularly good period for GOG from that point of view.
Other than that, however, this was subdued even for a major sale, and definitely not presented in any way as an anniversary in anything but name. And making that daily "present" thing when the only notable announcements were on the first 2 and last 2 days really put a dampener on things and generated a level of disappointment that wouldn't have existed if they wouldn't have created those expectations of something each day.

Are the devil may cry games a good port? hoping capcom releases the newer resident evil games at some point. not sure if any are tied to steamworks for leaderboard or multi

Also, the disappeared Commandos Strike Force and absent Hatred can be found DRM-free on Zoom Platform.
Hope someday they appear on GOG.com as well.

Well, this has all been a colossal non-event for me. Back to hoping against hope for some more Star Trek games for Christmas I guess!

Don't worry . The Whale Rock Games catalog still be on sale from tomorrow .

Side note : i don't understand why Gog let some developers to tag their games in almost every category .

There are games I want to buy and play from the sale but so hard to justify the purchases when I am so bad at games. I have hundreds I still have not cleared and may never clear in a lifetime.

Welp, it's done, the 17th anniversary is now complete and it ended in a silent fart. :D

Sorry (not sorry), I couldn't keep it in. :))

Happy birthday, GOG! I can't believe it's been 17 years since I found this place. Sometimes it feels like it's always been here, and I'm glad that this store keeps going. Even back in 2008 it was amazing to get DRM-free games, but now it feels more important than ever to be able to buy a game and to be able to enjoy it whenever you want, internet or not.

Cheers, GOG! <3
