An event like this happens only once a year – our Anniversary!

We’ve been here for 17 years; that’s quite a lot of time of making games live forever! For this occasion, we prepared something special: even though it’s our birthday, you’re the one getting gifts. Visit our store every day for a surprise!

And of course, here’s some of the deals:
Cyberpunk 2077 (-65%)
Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition (-60%)
Heroes of Might and Magic® 3: Complete (-50%)
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition (-80%)
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Gold Edition (-35%)
Dungeons & Dragons Neverwinter Nights 2: Enhanced Edition (-25%)
Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon (-10%)

…and more!

Anniversary ends on October 7th, 7 AM UTC. Check it out!

maxleod: Speaking of Sony, any chance we get the Lemmings games one day? And Wipeout?
Never say never, but I wouldn't get your hopes up, Sony hasn't shown much interest in rereleasing older titles since the PS3 days.

They should've spaced out the boxes so that each one would be meaningful, or at least communicated somewhat the nature of what was inside of 'em to avoid disappointment. I assume something went wrong and this is the result, but it feels like they're mocking their own efforts. Why work to undermine yourself? I dunno.

DarkeningDemise: Tomorrow they'll link to the program again or give away some random wallpapers you can get on Google image search. Calling it now.
Heh, no kidding. It's like GOG is taking 2 steps forward and 1 step back in its move to rival Steam.

Impressive that I can boot up Gothic 1 without doing buch of crap. Started up and playing great at 1440p.

For Wipeout (at least the first three games) theres also the factor of The Designers Republic (you know, the people that actually did all the main design stuff). AFAIK they still hold part of the rights and arent friends with Sony.

Much of the complaining about each day's "surprise" not being very noteworthy just makes me roll my eyes. (I'm not talking about criticizing the Preservation Program itself.) GOG can't provide you with dopamine every day. That said, maybe GOG should have saved Rise and Shadow to release this week instead of last, if possible, so each week we'd have something "big".

sataroth: Happy birthday! Can't believe its been 17 years. Same for me with the presents I click on the available one and nothing happens :).
Right-click and open it in a new tab: it's probably some bug/compatibility issue. I use a rather old firefox type browser and it worked for me.

I think the criticism is well deserved, the marketing plan for this celebration was poorly executed. We all know that GOG would love to sell all those high profile games we've been asking for but that publishers/developers are not willing to bring those titles over here. However, by starting the celebration with two big-bang level surprises, GOG did set an expectation that all surprises would be of that level. But what followed was disappointment 4 times in a row...

I was very excited for this birthday after the first two days but now, they managed to kill all the hype I had for it. In my opinion, as a marketing tool, this celebration completely failed its purpose. I can see multiple ways they could have make it better:
- Only offer one "big" surprise per week, 3 dates in the calendar and that's it or...
- ... keep all the dates but present it differently (e.g. 1 big present box, 5 small, 1 big, five small, 1 big) to keep expectation in check
- Do not offer the same thing twice in a row (e.g. big release, goodie, huge discount, small release, gog preservation, big release... so on and so forth)

But hey, I've been around for a long time and it's not the first time that GOG marketing completely missed the mark, so I shouldn't be surprised.

Can't get Sunday gift. I tried to get it in web browser and Galaxy client. No way to use the redeem code. The classic version is already in my library. It seems to be the problem. I wrote to support Monday.
Is somebody have the same issue?

I also have the classic version and the redeem code seems work fine on my side. Just so you know, it allows you to purchase the remake at a huge discount. I was able to put it in my cart but didn't go through with the payment as it's not a game I'm interested in.

Do you have the correct link ? https://www.gog.com/redeem/2025Magic

Is it just me or I don't understand why sales are supposed to be reveals/gifts? We get sales all the time. Just for the duration of this anniversary, I've been getting constant notifications that games on my wishlist are on sale. So why exactly are these sales supposed to be special?

Once the anniversary sale ends, that price will no longer be available.

There's nothing special about those sales, that's what I'm saying. If you browse the store to filter by sales only, you'll see that there's currently 163 pages of games on sales. With sales reaching as high as 90%. So, why exactly are highlighting the sales of these 3 shooter games special in any way?

Until the next sale, that is.
