An event like this happens only once a year – our Anniversary!

We’ve been here for 17 years; that’s quite a lot of time of making games live forever! For this occasion, we prepared something special: even though it’s our birthday, you’re the one getting gifts. Visit our store every day for a surprise!

And of course, here’s some of the deals:
Cyberpunk 2077 (-65%)
Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition (-60%)
Heroes of Might and Magic® 3: Complete (-50%)
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition (-80%)
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Gold Edition (-35%)
Dungeons & Dragons Neverwinter Nights 2: Enhanced Edition (-25%)
Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon (-10%)

…and more!

Anniversary ends on October 7th, 7 AM UTC. Check it out!

Xeshra: No worries, i had a nice evening because of your "economically critical" talks...

Anyway, yes, the Nazi gold was running out long time ago already. There is still tons of gold at the place i am living, so... another time no need to worry. More than half of the worlds gold production is being refined here... yet the US will not put 39% taxes there else they can say goodbye to the "quality gold":.. common sense may have won for now.

People can not always act "as they please" unless it is economically working in some way. So far the high game price seems to be barely acceptable but it surely is "at the edge" of tolerance.
I get it. Even in gilted Switzerland people are unhappy about prices, for different reasons, I allow.

We have a thread already, you can post as you like. (The main complaint is that GOG is more expensive than Steam)

https://www.gog.com/forum/general/gog_is_expensive

Anyway it's very late here so I will go to sleep (on the floor without futon, but I am used to it now so don't worry)

No offense Gog , but the anniversary " on sale " catalog bugged when filters applied . Sometimes freezing , sometimes auto removes the filters and jumps back to the first page .

Today was truly a 5/10 surprise.

I am almost shocked, but in order to understand i may need more insight at a certain time.

Predictably, 7/10 is the best they can do.

Pretty sure todays surprise was meant to be a forum competition - the kind that never sees completion.
BUT!!!
In the infinite wisdom of GOG they never opened it so can never be accused of never completing it!

What were the surprises on 3rd and 4th please? I wasn't around the past days and could not check, figuring it wouldn't be a pressing matter since the timed stuff lasted 72h before as well...

Thanks in advance!!

I'm guessing basically everyone dislikes the rewards. Fair. What I'm interested in is your thoughts on why GOG chose these. Do you believe they just can't spare the manpower do create interesting things? Laziness? No money? Executives/"suits"? Polish or Eastern Europe culture? A combination of some of the above? You can't blame it on low IQ right? (The store is still up and running somehow. ;)

Would you say GOG very often half-asses these things, for many years now (like the unfinished contests)? If so, why do you think that is? Is it because the people in charge tell staff to half-ass it / not put much effort in? Do staff become despondent because GOG is financially struggling, so they don't find the enthusiasm to put in the effort? "The forum regulars are always bitching so we won't reward them"? :P

Actually trying to be fair here believe it or not. I'd appreciate more than snarky responses.

It's more how they were set up. If gog had put one of the major releases at the end and/or combined some of the smaller 'rewards' into one box I doubt many would've minded so much.

"Make sure to grab the deals you want and check our Anniversary Calendar today and tomorrow for some great surprises"

Another round of back to back releases coming up, maybe?

In comparison to their economy power their manpower is actually pretty solid. Steam got 200-300 times the wealth but only about 3-4 times the manpower.
