An event like this happens only once a year – our Anniversary!

We’ve been here for 17 years; that’s quite a lot of time of making games live forever! For this occasion, we prepared something special: even though it’s our birthday, you’re the one getting gifts. Visit our store every day for a surprise!

And of course, here’s some of the deals:
Cyberpunk 2077 (-65%)
Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition (-60%)
Heroes of Might and Magic® 3: Complete (-50%)
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition (-80%)
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Gold Edition (-35%)
Dungeons & Dragons Neverwinter Nights 2: Enhanced Edition (-25%)
Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon (-10%)

…and more!

Anniversary ends on October 7th, 7 AM UTC. Check it out!

I guess this quiz and 72h propositions are some kind of downtime before something more interesting. BTW I'm glad Rise and Shadow of Tomb Raider popped up. Immediately grabbed them.

As Breja said, if they'd just left it at the Clair Obscur and Tomb Raider reveals and done nothing else, people would have been far happier overall than this cavalcade of time wasting mediocrity that actively makes GOG look like it has no idea what it's doing nor has any connection left to its userbase.

At this point I wouldn't be surprised if the big final day isn't even a new game at all, and just another vapid wallpaper like "goodie" pack. But surely even GOG wouldn't create an extra large special banner for the final day if it wasn't actually something special right? ...right?

Yeah, as I wrote before, if they didn't have anything meaningful for 16 days, then don't have 16 days of content. Opening with 2 big reveals and leaving it at that is fine. Less is more.

I just can't understand the thought process behind this event, this should have been an easy win, just announce the new special games, say thanks for being with us and walk away looking like pros.

Quizz now ? Meh

To be fair, it is thematic. What is bad though is that a couple of the answers are just outright wrong and can be easily verified with google.
Which means whoever made the quiz didn't care enough to actually double check.

Do we know if any other new games are coming to GOG during this sale-event-thing or was Claire & Tomb Raider everything?

Based GOG doing what they want and dabbing on haters.

We've had various other releases like Mai, Deadlink, Viewfinder, etc.

I don't think they have anything to do with the event.

If they do, then those should have been the presents.

Even more bewildering is there have actually been a number of other releases in recent days. Why not use them as those "surprises" instead? I may not like the look of Mai: Child of Ages much, and Deadlink is another freaking roguelike, but it would still look better than a borked quiz. There's been even more "coming soon" newsposts - they could have just gathered those into a single announcement with a nice graphic and it would be better than a second link to the preservation program.

Seriously, with just a bit of forethought working only with what they have this could have been managed so much better.

Sigh...

Is this really so hard to get? I'm not hating on GOG. I like GOG (despite everything they messed up over the years). I want GOG to keep going and improve and thrive. That's precisely why it upsets me when they shoot themselves in the foot. We all know their position isn't the strongest. They can't afford to turn good marketing opportunities into such disappointments.

I consider Deadlink to be the true surprise of this day as I did not see this one coming at all.
