As I don't think you've voiced any opinions about any of these yet, what do you think of:

- The dedo+Vitek vs Lift back-and-forth?

Still on mobile, so no quotes. My top pick is still nmillar, who hasn't done anything to convince me otherwise. On the contrary. Saying that some players ar their top pick "for the reasons that others said" is very lazy and very scummy.

Dedo seems over-sensitive, defensive and different from other games. So he seems scummy as well. Which is rare. Usually I town read him.

Vitek just rode along on dedos questioning me. Which is again too convenient. Pick a side in a conflict and ride along. I don't think Vitek would support dedo as openly if they were scum together. But I might be wrong. Or Vitek is scum and dedo is town after all and vitek is trying to buddy up.

So: preferred target: nmillar
Alternative targets: vitek and dedo

For all others i would need convincing.

I'm currently waiting for Lift to reply to me, as for the rest I probably need to re-read. I've been doing a lot of skim reading this week due to being back at work. Sorry!

Being one of the lucky ones to still be in full time work does have its drawbacks, and coupled with the usual day 1 lethargy, I just haven't had the enthusiasm to contribute much.

No. You can do meta reads if you look at specific games where someone was scum or town. Knowing the statistics doesn't help you make meta reads or any reads at all.

I'd say you're doing a good job - for the first time since I've started playing with you you don't seem to be putting yourself in a bad situation where scum can get a free mislynch. So that means you're doing well for D1 for either alignment. I can't say you're doing brilliantly in terms of scum-hunting but no one really is at the moment.

What I remember of Catte so far is the strong reaction to gogtrial's poke . I don't think it's necessarily AI but it did feel genuine and normally such a thing is more likely to come from an annoyed Townie when they get picked on for something that they perceive as an unfounded or plain wrong accusation. Of course, it could be an annoyed scum or the whole thing was an act but it did feel genuine.

My top pick is Lift right now. If you've followed our exchange it should be pretty clear where I stand on it and why.


I'd say this mostly depends on who said scum are and how they normally play. Some players are more talkative, engaged and aggressive while others tend to keep it slow and calm.


I don't like this point very much as it sounds like a try to leave a door open for an "unfortunate" flip.

It is certainly better to lynch but also keep in mind that we are still actively [supposed to be] trying to hit scum so ideally it's not just any lynch but something that you feel has at least a decent chance of getting good results. If you're certain (as someone can be on D1) some wagon is bad and the target is almost certainly going to flip Town you can still present your case and try to persuade others towards a better looking option.

Wtf? That's a silly thing to do, isn't it? If you're Town you're giving a free mislynch to the scum and they can just say "Well, he called for it and we had to avoid no-lynch so yeah, too bad he flipped Town but it's really his fault".


For someone who didn't think I was going after the statistics you keep bringing it up quite a lot.

And, if it didn't become clear why I asked (apparently not) - Trent based his Town-read of gogtrial based on how gogtrial plays as Town versus how he plays as scum. Someone mentioned that gogtrial was scum only once and if that was actually true it would have been a decent way to take a look at that one time (or better yet, have others who aren't as lazy or have good memory of it help in the process) and confirm Trent's explanation to some extent. If there was some sort of discrepancy (indeed a single time but behavior different to what was explained by Trent or more times with varying behavior) Trent would have had to answer for it. It was all (at first) about Trent and his committed stance re gogtrial.


@phaolo, I don't feel like going over the full list of players as you requested (sorry, but your own reasons on most players are "low participation", so yeah) but I hope this kind of serves the same purpose:

Right now I have the strongest suspicion of Lift, based on what has been going on.
Joe's exchange with gogtrial reminded me of a couple of situation from last game (when we were scum together) where he did something, someone else (mostly ZFR) called him out for it and Joe wrote some of his usual explanations that end up making him look more like a confused damsel than a scum who slipped. It's not impossible that it's Town!Joe, too as he is just as weird (in a nice way) and sexy AF but my most recent memories are of scum!him and that's what I'm getting vibes of.

Most others are mostly neutral.

I'm not the biggest fan of nmillar but not because I find him necessarily scummy, I just don't like how he's going about things at the moment. Last game (when Joe and I were scum) he was far worse looking than us for most of the game and (in my opinion) manage to get out unscathed mostly through a redundant process of getting cleared in various ways through Town powers rather than his own daily actions. So it's possible his Town play just isn't that Town in general but I've only played with him in that one game so can't know for sure.

GH has normally gotten lynched D1 in games we've played together and more often than not it was because he presented himself to scum on a silver platter in some way. This game I'm glad to say he hasn't given a reason for even consider him as a top pick which is great. I'd still lynch him in the face of no-lynch, though :)

I'm not a fan of your post #214 (sorry, I don't have the link atm but it's the the first quote in this post). That doesn't mean you're automatically scum but you can be and you've gotten my attention. Either way, this is your first game and by unwritten rule I'm not even considering you as a valid choice for D1 even versus no-lynch, unless you somehow manage to screw up royally and make it effectively clear you're scum but I don't think that has ever happened.

With all that said, at this point I have a preference for Lift. Then everyone else (sans GH) in no particular order. Then GH. I'm not voting you nor me.

I was busy during the weekend, but I see stuff developed a lot, especially dedo and lift. I tend to town read Lift for some reason and was bitten by this in the past. I will try to go back a bit and re-read their posts a bit later today.

No biggie.

That said: when you find time and re-read, if you could maybe reply to post 248 and also answer the questions in the end section of post 221(minus how you lean yourself, obviously) i'd greatly appreciate it.
