SirMrFailRomp: Good morning GOG.

GameRager: Read what I said again, if you could.

I didn't say I wanted to imprison gogtrial back then....I said what I did to make sure people knew about the change in the rules so we didn't imprison someone accidentally that we might not want to (gogtrial or anyone else) due to people possibly not knowing about/reading that rule change**.

(**=As some in these games have a tendency to skim some things)
I'm pretty sure I read it carefully enough the first time. I didn't say you considered gogtrial for lynching. I said you brought up the "fact" that he had the most votes and you weren't sure if that potentially ending up as the The Lynch is a good or a bad result. So, again, we are in RVS - these votes mean mostly nothing and to me it's unreasonable to consider this potential lynch at this point. Taking a loot at the people holding the two votes is probably a couple of notches more interesting but the person being voted? Not so much. Yet you took the time to make a note of it in your post. Maybe it's nothing so I'm not putting lots of weight on that but to me such things look like an effort to appear active for the sake of it. Normally a very specific subset of players benefit of such things and their name rhymes with Fafia. Of course, this may have been your honest opinion and concern so I'm not holding it against you but it did stand out a bit so I commented on it.

GameRager: So you're trying to paint my play as scum play?
I find your playstyle to be anti-town. That's not the same as scum, but it might as well be. However, "paint as" has connotations of purposefully making it seem as something for the benefit of other players, while not taking a position yourself. As such, I reject your phrasing.

(Point taken on me not trying to dictate how you play, though. You do deserve that courtesy. Just as long as you're aware of the effect this particular aspect of your play has.)

avatar
GameRager: Also you seem to be focusing a lot on me for some reason....why is that?
Because you injected yourself into my conversation with Joe with a seemingly meaningful but ultimately meaningless comment? My entire point was that you're drawing attention - nice attempt at turning that around!

avatar
GameRager: FOS Gogtrial
Not willing to commit to an actual vote?

avatar
Lifthrasil: So, what you're saying is, that you are really dangerous as scum, because you will be town-read one way or another. Isn't that a good argument to be especially wary of you?
Not "especially", I don't think. But yes, be wary of me, same as of everyone, and put more weight on actions than on reads. (And take into account that my original comment was directed toward a mostly new player, who doesn't have the benefit of history.)

Of course, if you want to trust me blindly, you should feel free to do so, too. This game, that won't come back to bite you, and you can take my word for that. :)

dedoporno: So, again, we are in RVS - these votes mean mostly nothing and to me it's unreasonable to consider this potential lynch at this point.
I was more trying to highlight the rule change so people would be mindful of it, than to seriously consider gogtrial's or anyone else's lynch.

dedoporno: Of course, this may have been your honest opinion and concern so I'm not holding it against you but it did stand out a bit so I commented on it.
Fair enough.

Thank you.

And I am aware.....it's just I also like to have fun a bit more than winning(though I also try to help my side win as well if I can and sometimes try things to improve my play while still having fun with the game).

gogtrial34987: Because you injected yourself into my conversation with Joe with a seemingly meaningful but ultimately meaningless comment? My entire point was that you're drawing attention - nice attempt at turning that around!
Dunno if you have followed me on the board ever, but I do that a lot in general(reply to any comment that catches my eye).

avatar
gogtrial34987: Not willing to commit to an actual vote?
Not sure yet.....also as in other games I am cautious and also often second guess my actions more than I should...basically I don't want to vote you, then later found out I chose wrong & we're out a fellow town.
avatar
dedoporno: Normally a very specific subset of players benefit of such things and their name rhymes with Fafia.
Is it Kafia?

avatar
dedoporno: Of course, this may have been your honest opinion and concern so I'm not holding it against you but it did stand out a bit so I commented on it.
So you just find it interesting and worth pointing out but not necessarily scummy?

No, you were not saying we should eviscerate him. You were just putting out there it is viable lynch and people should be thinking about it. Like you were. About 2-vote RVS wagon (that were not even 2 votes anymore). The fact is, only person offering it as viable wagon were you.
avatar
Lifthrasil: And then he didn't refer to his beloved random.org for his RVS vote.

What's the matter, ZFR? Domestic dispute with your RNG?
Dude you're like a year late - he stopped doing that when everybody kept going on about it.

gogtrial34987: Of course, if you want to trust me blindly, you should feel free to do so, too. This game, that won't come back to bite you, and you can take my word for that. :)
You can guarantee it?

avatar
Lifthrasil: What's the matter, ZFR? Domestic dispute with your RNG?
I wanna say this is scum Lift. He'll probably say "you always say that."

Probably we should lynch him anyway.
avatar
Lifthrasil: The town claim might be a joke too. Maybe even intended as opposite to the stupid 'scum' joke-claims of the past games. Still, it's not really ZFR. And then he didn't refer to his beloved random.org for his RVS vote.

What's the matter, ZFR? Domestic dispute with your RNG?
I stopped doing random.org RVS since Joe's CaptainSapphire game. That's 10 (Ten) games ago, excluding SH and Sultan Court. 13 moths. Haven't used it since then.
Stop using Internet Explorer.

The Town-claim isn't a joke per se. It's me being Micro. Last game he said "I claim Town" as a joke very early and got lynched for "claiming" too early.
So my first post as Micro was "claiming" Town (and complaining about always being Town despite wanting scum - something he did often too). This had nothing to do with the "I'm Crabbe/scum" joke. His first post as ZFR was "hoping he doesn't get NKed N1" again.

Yes, the exchange of avatars was agreed on long before the game started. Even before Micro knew he'd play in this one (we agreed to do the exchange in the next game we play together for the lulz).

Which brings me too...
avatar
Vitek: So you just find it interesting and worth pointing out but not necessarily scummy?
Correct. It could be something but may very well be a false positive. I, as scum, have personally abused his way of playing in the past so I know for a fact that it's not automatically a scum-tell. I do agree with gogtrial to some extent that GR tends (or at least did so in the past) to play somewhat anti-town regardless of official alignment which can be problematic on its own but after a long break it does feel toned down which is good. Still something to take a note of during times where pings are sparse.
bump?..

ZFR: Which brings me too...
It brings me too man, it brings me too.
Stupid moth

... which brings me to (singular O) this:

avatar
dedoporno: Got it, thanks! @ZFR/Micro, consider yourselves asked. As can any other player who knows the answer to this question.
avatar
JoeSapphire: Well yeah, it's tempting to think they decided to do it in mafia or mason chat isn't it?
Did not anyone else find it strange? Even if Micro and I were scum-buddies (or masons), there is no way we'd have coordinated this in scum/mason-chat after the game started. Avatars take 24-36 hrs to change and they *had* to be done before game started.
(We made the change when Pooka announced on Friday that game would start on Saturday and agreed that should the game be postponed further, we don't make new posts on the forums so the change isn't noticed).

Now, not everyone might be aware of those quirks GOG forums have (I myself wouldn't have known about them had it not been for the avatar conga 2 years ago), but Joe changes his avatar every month. If anyone, he should know that the change *couldn't* have happened after game start.
So why bring it up?

Hmm. That's actually quite interesting.

You know who would say that? Scum-buddies who coordinated such a thing in their chat!

Jokes aside, I didn't bring it up myself but I was I was obviously alluding to the same thing. Ignoring that it could be a very sharp double-edged sword to make such "plays" with little to no reward it looked at least surprising to me. Sure, I've been gone for a while and may have missed new friendships forming and whatnot but my initial reaction was "Were ZFR and Micro this close before to prepare something like that together?!". I'm sorry if you were and I never noticed while I was still actively playing. It just came out of nowhere for me, personally. If it were you and Joe, for example, I wouldn't have blinked as that connection I have seen before. And I totally forgot about the forum being unreliable when it comes to avatar changes.

avatar
ZFR: So why bring it up?
Either to share the same observation or to make me feel better about my own?
There goes ZFR.
Replied to Vitek/ZFR(and a question to all at the end):

No, I was trying to point out the opposite mainly...that if people don't want him(or anyone else) for the day's imprisonment they should make sure that said person is not the highest vote count at EOD.

There is a differing lynch mechanic this game, and I wanted to make sure everyone was on the same page and was aware of it.

Out of game question to all: I am curious....is this how it is for everyone else?

(I ask as mine usually change within an hour or so[more or less])
