Krypsyn: We were in a bad position, so we were going for the best of many bad options. Whether you would have or not, I, at least, felt the chances were higher that you would vote for Ixam than Robbeasy would. In hindsight, QuadrAlien might have been a better target than either you or Robbeasy.

Bookwyrm627: I was pretty certain Quad was going down, rather than Ix.
LOL so was I - which is why I actually protected Quad that last night (before I died!) I thought it fitting that CSPVG was able to snuff me out with the final night kill.

I SO wanted to claim Doctor (AGAIN!) the last day - but I knew it would muck up the whole thing more than it would help ("No, really! I'm the Doctor! AGAIN!"). So I took my chances that I'd get killed but CSPVG would be strung up the next day.

Agreed. He was after you all game, just about, and finally got you in the end.
By the way, I forgot to mention how much fun it was to say "Eat a bag of dicks" in zombie language. And yell in Ukranian. Highlight of the game for me. :)

Robbeasy: Love you too :)
I just remembered. What was the other town tell I was supposed to pick up from Wyrm?

He used the word Townie - specifically, early on.

My PM was that I was a Vanilla Townie.

Yeah its weak, but Ix picked up on it. I was gobsmacked when you came out with 'Loyalist' - that was nowhere to be found in my PM at all.

It's wierd with using the PM wordage to find out information - as Town you have so little to go on that everything matters, right down to how you refer to yourself or the scum. I DONT feel its cheating in any way - we use the tools we are given in any way we see fit, and it does provoke some pretty good debates. If a MOD doesn't want us to use these things, then the PMs should be more carefully worded, IMHO.

Overall, I think it added rather than detracted from this game - but I guess its all a matter of taste.

Yep. I live and learn. In my next game the PM wording will be part of the game balance from the get go.

LOL, I actually thought of that at one point when I traversed back (can't be bothered to find the post), but I discarded it for being way too generic, since I myself use the word constantly regardless of seeing it somewhere or my own alignment.

As for not having the word in your PM, I was a somewhat concerned it might be Vanilla exclusive, but the risk vs reward was worth the shot. I'm glad we managed to pull out a couple of allies out of it without outing power roles. For example, when Flub said early on that his PM tells him exactly what he can do about emissions and whatnot I was sure he is either power role or scum, leaning to the latter. Only Books was able to confuse me to the point where I started to trust him a bit more, but for the others I was pretty sure the entire time. CSPVG was going to be outed the day after I died, since I was the Cop then and was investigating him with the idea that he is scum.

Playing the PM game can be both a good or a bad thing and I'm not talking about being on the receiving side or the one who uses it. I liked how we did it this game. As you said, we used the available information and things that came out on their own, sometimes even unintentionally, if not always.

I didn't like the space game situation where we practically compared PMs and asked people what they had and where. These are cheap shots and take away from the fun.

Saying: I am a "vanilla townie'" is perfectly fine. Saying "the words 'Vanilla Townie' are in my PM, thus the other player must be town" is against the rules, generally speaking, since it is quoting. Not playing by the rules, is by definition, cheating. That isn't a matter of taste.

From my point of view it totally detracted from the game, as it created an imbalance that was not intended in the setup. From Day 2 on, there were always several character that were pretty much completely confirmed. It limited viable NK targets for scum, and also made it easier for town to pass with powers.

In the end, if the moderator doesn't mind quoting in his or her game, the moderator can adjust the rules accordingly. If it is in the rules, however, it should not be a matter of debate.

And I certainly regard this as my biggest failure in the game. Proofing and helping to balance the setup was pretty much my only job, you know? I was royally kicking myself for not catching that the word "loyal" could be that loaded.

I definitely learned something from it. Any game I'm involved in with any degree of moderating capacity will NOT have that problem again, let me tell you...

That was what really annoyed me about Sage outing me, I had just started to convince you I might be town and then she blew my cover...
That's when I knew you had to die ;)
Unfortunately it wasn't enough to save us...

Yeah, good job there! I read your scum chat and saw that you were considering two options and I wasn't the top tip. With a risk to sound a bit over-confident, I believe you made the right decision taking me out in the end, regardless of Krypsyn believing he can discredit me enough during the day.

Yep. Especially since you were about to investigate and thereby reveal CSPVG. And your death killed the Cop power too.

You almost sound pleased about it. :-)
