Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

AlexRavenheart: I tried using the Add command line arguments option to specify -32bit -dxlevel 90 for Star Wolves and it does not apply those arguments. Applying the arguments directly to the shortcut created after installing the game works but launching the game from Galaxy does not apply them.

Without those arguments the game will not run properly as no ships will fire their main guns. Running on Win 7 x64.
Is this a Galaxy bug or am I missing something?

Johny.: Please report an issue on http://mantis.gog.com/ with your logs attached. :)
Done. Link to issue
Hi all. I've got 511 games and 4 films in my account. Since months I'm trying to install about 150 games but Galaxy keeps forgetting the installation path - upon every crash or bootup the installed files are not shown anymore. As long as a session is running everything seems to be fine... My system is a notebook (Windows 7 x64 SP1) connected to my NAS via USB, one whole 4TB drive on the NAS is dedicated to GOG games (drive G:). I'm going crazy as I can't find out what's wrong. Any ideas?

I basically want every game installed before I start to play. I've got the User Account Control activated but log on always as the same user. When i use the import function of the client it finds only 1 or 2 games instead of the about 150 missing which I already installed so many times. I can point the client to the installation folder manually but it wont save the path.

You are not the first person to have this type of issue and I would say using a NAS device is probably the problem. One user even claimed they were told by GOG support that NAS was not supported. Typically these type of issues appear to impact users using some type of external storage. I'm not sure if it's because the database get's trashed when the external storage is removed / disconnected or when the computer is powered off or what but that seems to be a theme with this issue.

Perhaps someone from GOG will be able to troubleshoot the issue with you... it may help if you submit a bug report with logs.

Thanks for the swift reply. I will take a look into the thread you mentioned later when I have time. As a user with big accounts (1.000+ games on Steam, 500+ on GOG and about 700 on Desura, now defunct) I just can't rely on a tiny 750GB internal C: drive on my notebook. So the 8-bay Sharkoon NAS is a must-have for me. One 4Tb drive is not enough for my Steam games so there are 2 drives dedicated to that. Atm I try to let Galaxy update automatically again; maybe that will help. Hmmm, I see that Galaxy seems to be installing some games/updates now. I will see if more games are installed after a reboot later.

Honestly, I don't care if NAS are not supported. They just have to be! Because the collections will always grow bigger at Black Friday sales as will the sizes of storage media. You know sites like GOG, Steam or Desura offer a collection of let's say 3-5.000 games. How do they store them? THERE lies the answer... So it must be possible. Maybe they use servers instead of a NAS system. It would be very interesting to know...!

I wanted to attach a screenshot done with the Snipping Tool but got an error message because of a wrong file format... Anyway, Galaxy seems to be importing/installing all the files just fine now. I just hope they will be there after the next restart/crash/bootup. So far everything looks good.

Bye for now + greetings from Germany!

I think others have commented on this already but I'd like to raise the question regardless.

Could you (GOG) please remove the Galaxy bundled installers? I noticed that these are selected by default now which I find sneaky, cheeky and cheap. There already is a "try galaxy" button for those who revel in things like steam/origin/uplay. If you want a higher uptake on Galaxy then promote it more but don't try to slide it in under the radar on your customers computers.

I know the separate installers are still there but this move makes me uneasy and raises the question, for how long?

These were added because a high number of support request were received by people who did not understand that they needed Galaxy to take advantage of features like cloud saves and achievements according to those who went to GOG HQ. It was also stated this change has lessoned the support load.

So the best you could probably hope for is an option to set the classic installers as the default version, which GOG has stated they may add at some point.

Even with Galaxy installers they all work fully offline and you can disable the Galaxy install completely under the installer settings so they in effect can be used as standard classic installers.

Skladzien: on my old system when trying to run gog galaxy i am getting error message application was not run correctly (0xc000007b). Installing vcredist did not repair the problem.
avatar
omega64: Define old? If it runs XP that isn't oficially supported.
Old means it runs win 8.0, and it is lenovo g500.
avatar
Wraithcat: I'm sick and tired of GOG deciding that it is going to charge me in US dollars, despite the fact that I use the Aussie Dollar.
avatar
Johny.: We have support for AUD. Did you choose AUD as your currency in account and locale settings?

Do you experience any problems with Galaxy Client on that matter? If so, could you try to change the currency in your profile settings from in-galaxy? (your avatar dropdown -> account management) Change it back and forth if it's already set.

Please send back your feedback when you're done. :) If we see any issue there regarding Galaxy Client, we'll add this as a bug to fix.
While I can change the Country, the Account Settings won't let me change to any other currency and is locked in US dollars.

I have one more question and I'll submit a bug for you. Does currency changing take effect for you in your browser, via this page?

qj08: Hi there, I picked up several new games during the sale, but encountered a weird problem. When I tried to install the new games via galaxy, it said "downloading started" but the progress remained at 0%.. after a long time it would tell me "failed". Meanwhile, I am able to download the backup copies through the galaxy without any problem.. is this something wrong with my internet connection, or something on the galaxy end? Thank you!

Oh, by the way, the galaxy agent worked OK for me previously. This happened a couple of days ago and persists as I write now.
avatar
ChrisSZ: Might have something to do with your location, in some parts of the world... . I have the same problem :-P

Sometimes it works again after a few days/weeks...
The problem is gone when I tried again this morning. Hopefully galaxy will remain functional in future.

woytazGOG: Restarting applications which were running before shutdown is a new feature in Windows 10 Fall Creator's Update (v. 1709), as explained in this thread by a Support Engineer from Microsoft.

We'll be looking into this issue soon.

Until then closing the application before rebooting or shutting the computer down should help, which I know is not ideal.
avatar
eschenbacher: Thanks for the answer and sorry for my anger.

Until now on my system Galaxy is the only software with this behavior. No Browser, no mail, and no steam client does it. But good to know the reason.
I'm seeing the same issue, every time I boot up Win 10 I see Galaxy. Like you, no other programs do this. I do a normal shutdown of Windows at least once every day, and typically use Chrome browser, Libre Office, Waveform, Band-In-A-Box, Steam client, VLC, Search Everything, KeePass and FreeCommanderXE. I guess Microsoft likes Galaxy but not the others?

I close all programs before I shut down Windows, but don't close any services or task tray programs. I have Galaxy's Auto Start option unchecked. When it's time to play games, a tool like Galaxy is a welcome way to update, play, research, and buy games. The rest of the time I don't want to see it, and don't want it using up memory or CPU cycles or slowing down my hard drive.

Venom: Games installed via GOG Galaxy now have shortcuts that also point to GOG Galaxy, so that you will get all the features (game time tracking, achievements, overlay, multiplayer, cloud saves etc.) when launching games via shortcut.
avatar
StahnAileron: Is there anyway to turn this function off? The reason I like GoG is it doesn't force or insist I run something in the background I don't want. I don't care for the in-game functions GoG Galaxy offers and would rather not have it force-start itself when I run a game. If I wanted it, I'd have it start-up with my system on boot/log-in by default.

I am not a social gamer, I don't need to be reminded how long I've had a game running (not necessarily playing as I fallen asleep at the keyboard before), achievements are tracked in-game if they have them, I don't play on multiple systems (and know how to find my saves if I really need them), and overlays are pretty much useless without the features.
Yes please! When I noticed this change several months ago, I uninstalled Galaxy. I would like to use Galaxy to manage my library, but NOT to run games!

Has this suggestion been implemented yet?

If not, can we please get an option in Galaxy to create non-Galaxy shortcuts (like they used to be)? Having to manually create shortcuts for all my games is ridiculous.
I having a lot of trouble with the GoG Galaxy client on the latest version. After installation I get an error that says it couldn't update, then when I try to sign, it won't do that either.
Starting with the latest update, GOG is launching on start-up in Windows 10 64-bit, even though in the options the launch at start-up is unchecked.
This is the shittiest game store / system. I can't download galaxy or any of my games. I will take to social media because this is a total scam.
