Please use: http://mantis.gog.com and include
1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

========================================================================================

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

Go into the settings and change where the install files are held during setup. I have mine set to have the installers on one drive and the games installed to another drive. Once the install is done the install files are removed, with the default settings.

(Insert Game Here) installation failed
:P Galaxy is giving me a clean sign: Go to bed and come back tomorrow.

I tried your suggestion, but it didn't work. I'll try tomorrow wich a fresh mind.
None of the games in the Zork anthology want to install properly. That's the only thing I've had issue with so far, though I haven't imported the whole collection yet.
Can someone send me a friend invite? Would like to see how it works.

REKiller: So I have 2 drives, my C drive is a SSD and my E is a standard harddrive. When I set to install on my E drive, the install will say it failed, saying it ran out of disk space, but I have plenty of space. It installs fine on C but I don't want to fill up my C drive with the games. Is this a bug in Galaxy or is something else wrong? My version is 1.0.0.871 and I'm running Windows 8.1. Galaxy is also installed to my E drive.
Only certain games are available to be used in the galaxy client right now. I tried doing the same and only Aliens v Predator is installed to Galaxy from my collection.

It's still obviously a beta, but I really am liking what I see so far. I really like the organizational and the social features.

Is there a list of all games with achievements? So far the only one I can find is The Witcher 2. I'm hoping this gets implemented in more games. Seeing retro achievements in older games would be great.
Some content suggestions that may or may not have been made prior, but will help Galaxy compete with Steam:

A 'profile' page, ideally optional and modular but at the least something that can be linked to. I'll use my own as an example: I can link to my Steam profile, and people can see info, what games I play, whether I have an avatar, any info that I've posted (if any), and, importantly, they can easily click 'Add Friend' without needing to search for my username.

Support for 'adding' non-GOG games that can be launched from the client and will show to friends. It is tracked only by the client (for 'play time' and to show friends) while being entirely optional. Games not purchased from GOG would not benefit from many of Galaxy's features; that is, if a pirate played a game and wanted to play it through Galaxy, he wouldn't enjoy update flexibility, and his game would be marked as 'non-Galaxy', but he could still use the Galaxy platform (Steam lets users do this). This would be an especially popular option for Humble Bundle buyers, I can imagine.

Custom launch options for the game client. These are executable-specific launch options, akin to if users added commands at the end of an executable. Things like "-dxlevel 81" or "--windowed".

Cloud save-data. It's not useful for most players, but is still make-or-break for many users. The savedata cap size can be differentiated based on game and, if supported, could allow for multiple types of save data. Using Besiege as an example, saved level data is simply a text file with 0 or 1 for each level, but then it'd be convenient to have access to cloud-saved machines.

Screenshots that are easy to share. Hopefully screenshots will be a part of the upcoming in-game interface setup, but here's a part where you could pretty easily outshine Steam: the process to upload screenshots is several steps more involved than it needs to be, and generates an ugly-looking two-foot URL - and sometimes you get the link to the 'picture page', but not the picture itself. A simple way to hit <bindable key>, then open the overlay and "upload" and/or "upload and copy link" would be absolutely marvelous. Open up any multiplayer FPS game in Steam, die, and try sending your friend a screenshot of the killboard before you respawn. Oh, wait, you can't (easily), and then the URL is a foot long.

Really looking forward to Galaxy being an amazing competitor to Steam. Keep up the good work!

Does anyone know how long it takes from applying for the beta and getting an email?
I signed up for the β as soon as I found out about it. I was quite disappointed to hear that it doesn't support Linux yet (since I have wholesale moved to Linux these days). But, I'm (im)patiently awaiting the Linux client release :D

All the best,

The time differs since the invitations are sent out in batches. So the only thing you can do is wait. Look out for an email with a code to redeem here on the page.

It's annoying is it? I thought I was alone in noticing that.
At least the OS X version of this application needs to go back to the drawing board.

Can only be run from top level Applications folder? That's a show-stopper for me right there.

Tries to connect to Google-Analytics upon launch. Are you kidding me?

The 'import folder' feature does not seem to work at all. If I select the folder above the game, the app does nothing at all. If I select the game, the app downloads the game again and puts the second copy inside the application bundle...

Tried to reinstall Blackguards - resulted in a non-executable without icon...

Whether or not DLC is installed is totally intransparent and not controllable...

I own Ultima VII, does not appear in my library...

Randomly crashes upon exit...

Sorry, but this needs another year development - at least!

First of all we're talking about Beta, right? Not every feature is working or is implemented right now. If that's a stopper for you, sorry to hear that, you can wait until we release the final, public build which should have this fixed.

avatar
Doodleroo: Tries to connect to Google-Analytics upon launch. Are you kidding me?
Client doesn't use Google Analytics anywhere, however it allows you to browse GOG.com website which indeed uses GA.

avatar
Doodleroo: The 'import folder' feature does not seem to work at all. If I select the folder above the game, the app does nothing at all. If I select the game, the app downloads the game again and puts the second copy inside the application bundle...
This feature is for importing existing games (not installing new ones) into the client which were not compatible with GOG Galaxy yet. Therefore you can sync a game to an existing bundle app folder (.app extension). Probably the message should be more clear about it.

avatar
Doodleroo: Tried to reinstall Blackguards - resulted in a non-executable without icon...
Whether or not DLC is installed is totally intransparent and not controllable...
The game is installed with all available DLCs at start, you can uninstall them from the game view.
As for the icon it may have been cached incorrectly by the OS, it should get back to normal in time, the game should be fine nevertheless. If it doesn't run, please let us know on Mantis.

avatar
Doodleroo: I own Ultima VII, does not appear in my library...
Ultima VII is not available on OS X yet through GOG Galaxy.

avatar
Doodleroo: Randomly crashes upon exit...
We'd be grateful for a ticket on Mantis regarding the crashes with logs and crash dumps. Which will help us find the cause of the problem.
