Character: Argy "The Cook" (female halfling)

Argy does not come from any sea. She was born in a merry inland shire, where she ran a well-known inn.
However, one day, a drunken nobleman and his cohorts showed at the inn and turned over the pot, spoiling Argy's best broth. She went mad and ended up hitting the nobleman and several of his guards in the groin and the face with a frying pan. As a result of this, she was arrested and sentenced to row in a galley of the King's Navy.
There was no worse punishment for a halfling like her, since their people don't like ships or large bodies of water. Luckily, one day, the infamous Cursed Crew raided the galley she was in and freed the prisoners. Argy decided to join the gang and start a life of looting and seafaring.

Weakness: She can't swim

Starting weapon: Pan (consider it as a cudgel for all purposes but it makes a funnier sound when hitting its intended target)

Avast Matey. We be pleased to be welcomin' ye aboard, but the Ship's crew must be properly balanced, and our Ship's Cook be Felinoid (think Monster Hunter - yes, THAT felinoid). Ye see, he also keeps the rats away! ;)
In plain English - sorry, the canine does not fit well. Felines were welcome aboard ships for the very reason I stated, and also have both an inbuilt strength and an inbuilt weakness that works well with game environment and set-up. However, there may be a Cursed Weapon that we can talk about later. ;) Please choose another race.

Welcome aboard to the Crew members. Bellandra, I might suggest ye stay away from the Fiendfire cannon, and maybe the galley too (kitchen). On the other hand, er paw, Gigi, ye may be pleased to note our Ship cook also be Felinoid. Ye may be the only one he trusts around his knives. No cat fights now! Argy, I'm not sure how our Ship cook will take ta ye, he be territorial, ye see - but meybe ye can show him a thing or two about wielding that pan o' yours. ;)

I be thankin ye fer yer words. Be that the case, then I be the Dwarf Captain Baldbeard, Wolf of the Seas. Ye kin find me most often sailing the high seas in my home waters of the Sea of Showers. I may be a dwarf, but best not bring up my height, lest ye be wantin my cudgel tween yer eyes. Me smooth shiny pate on the other hand, if ye bring up, I just laugh- the hair on me chin glistens more finely than any mop on any landlubbers head. I always keep it well with my oils 'n ungents and fishbone comb, we're not savages.

They call me the Wolf a'cause I made me coin sniffin' out other Captains' treasures: in the ground, in their homes and in their ships, and I don't leave no wagging tongues, but at the bottom of the sea. I kinna deny, I've never been one beat anyone racing bow to stern, but once I git moving, I can knock down the mast down just by running at it.
I play a mean set a tunes on my harmonica, and any fool who says I harbour an aversion to the cold is a damned liar, and I'll cut their tongue out!

I have never participated in a game like this before, so I am really excited to be a part of this. I hope the more experienced will give me a few pointers.

Fer all these years, me been a landlubber travellin' through the lands. But then me met an old salt in a village with an oxcart full'o booty. And me'thought, avast, it be the time to sail under the Jolly Roger and brave the briny deep. So me stands before you Cap'n, with a dream to drink casks of grog and bumbo, pillage booty and have some salmagundi.

Bhrigu, the human wanderer, has travelled many villages and towns of his land as a teller of stories and a writer of poems. He earned his coin by the virtue of his knowledge of the letters and his much prized pen and inkwell. A gatherer of stories has decided to join the cursed crew in search of tales that await him on the high seas and distant islands. He brings with him a bag full of books, head full of doubts (he is indecisive), and a saber that was gifted to him by a cavalry officer after bhrigu composed a poem for him as he was returning to his family after two whole years.

More lore on bhrigu's journeys will materialize in time.

Thank you for your very kind words, drxenija. You are correct, B and I were very alike, and very connected. We both shared a bit of a quirky sense of humor, and a belief in common courtesy and kindness, when possible. I still feel his strength and the strength of our relationship as part of my core. I only hope to be able to carry that forward and share that essence with the community.

Adventure and plunder? Promise of good sailing and fighting? Ye don't have to ask me twice, or even once. For though I long have been without a crew to call me mateys, or a ship to command or simply sail upon, a recluse that has buried his plunder at many an island across many a sea, with many of me spoils haven't seen light of sun or moon, me legs still be restless on land, and me blade don't like to be sheath'd for long - I be in for the Cursed Crew. Ah, but I do need to explain meself further, don't I? That's how ye crewing rules be, after all.

Very well. I was known as Aylar the Red Mane once, and me name rang like a thunderclap across the Sea of Storms, along with the names of me shipmates, and our fine vessel, Bloody Mary. Glorious were our exploits, until a creature of depths most foul - a powerful, scheming sea hag - sought to scuttle our ship for her prized ship graveyard, and entrap our blades, bodies and souls alike to her servitude. Ultimately, we have lost our Mary to her clutches, and many of me fellows fell to her magicks. Some found their final stop at the Locker, while trying to retreat. Those of us who denied her completely, winning our freedom, found themselves cursed, they did-

What's that? Ye asking if me beard is real? Well of course it is. By me dashing looks it's evident that I have taken after me father, but I'm still a half-elf. Bah, now I've lost me thread for a moment. Where was I- ah, yes.

A pirate without a ship, or a crew, or a good plunder might as well already be cursed, won't ye agree? I know not what happened of me old mateys since, but I know that they must be suffering just as much as me, be they still sailing the seas or wallowing on dry land. The wretch knew where to hit - by her foul will, even the finest rum, the strongest grog now be tasting like plain water to me. No matter how many mugs I drain, not even a spark of a good bar-brawling fire lights up me veins. Thus, Aylar the Dry Throat some whelps have named me these days, though anyone calling me that to me face is risking to have their guts tangled in the business end of me cutlass. The loss of me ship, me crew, and especially me drinking habits has left me vengeful - grimly I remain sober, and me rage is left to burn untamed by the proper touch of a good drink. Woe be to anyone that wrongs me or anyone I shall cast me lot in with.
