flubbucket: Please explain....
avatar
dedoporno: Global understanding that you are Vanilla Town that may be lynched because of reasons or may not be lynched because of other reasons in which case may or not be converted by the scum.
So please explain why you would keep me alive??

You played last game and you remember what happened. Day Two will be less than obvious because scum will play it out with a tactical advantage if I'm kept alive.

Lists at this juncture are moot. All of you are scum unless I am lynched.
I know Hyper is digging at it already, but has anyone else noticed that Leonard just seems to have slid what could justifiably be assumed to have been an RVS vote (or at very least an early place holder one) into a cushy spot on my wagon?

Also, those asking flub for reads; you do realise by leaving him alive he is likely to be scum tomorrow. He's not playing for our team any more. Why would he do anything to help town if he expects not to be town tomorrow?

I want to have your baby.

I'd rather try and lynch actual scum, but if that is not possible (i.e. not enough people find my pick as scummy as I do) I would lynch you instead of going after yet another random lynch that may end up spilling more information. That said, your lynch isn't decided by me alone so even if I take part the lynch may still not happen. Regardless of whether my lynch of choice happens or it doesn't but yours doesn't get enough votes, if you're still around Tomorrow I'd prefer you to have less wiggling room. People who don't want you lynched today may not want to Tomorrow either - the next to last cult game the Alarmist didn't get converted for tactical reasons which can still happen here. Your lynch will still have to happen eventually but being able to distinguish a change in behavior and/or interactions may help in avoiding a planned policy mislynch or still call for the correct conversion lynch. Last but not least, if you end up being lynched after all it would still be useful to have a confirmed Townie's opinion to work with.

Are you saying he's playing for the other team already? As in providing a list that will be still valid Tomorrow if converted? Isn't that one more reason flub gives the list now rather than later (if he is giving one at all, that is) while he is still Town and doesn't know if his lynch will go through or not? If he is lynched today he'll go down as Town so he has incentive to help his final team however he can. If the list happens after it becomes clear his lynch won't happen than I agree that the will have to be ignored since it may be based on his supposed conversion.

It's obvious lynching scum is better.

Allowing me to live into Day Two is pointless. Your response is not town.

Of course.
It doesn't look like his lynch is happening any time soon... so why should he actively try to assist a team he isn't likely to be on any more?
Maybe he's not converted tonight, but he might be converted tomorrow night. He is now a liability, that is what I've been trying to tell you all.
Even if he is not converted he can't wholeheartedly play for town any more.

trentonlf: [...] To underestimate scum is the detriment of town. [...]
You know that I fully agree here, but my comment has nothing to do with underestimating scum. Four heads will usually produce more results than two, eight more than four, so on on. Whether all ideas are equally good is a different matter, but then four heads are more likely to filter through more stuff than two, and so on.

Also, with two scum teams, it's more likely that both teams pay more attention to the thread as each one lacks the full picture.

Underestimating these factors may also prove detrimental to town.

trentonlf: [...] There's also a difference in being cautious and being afraid to talk about anything. [...]
You won't find me disagreeing here either, but I never said not to talk about anything. All I said is to be cautious about what one talks about, and how one phrases the things they want to talk about as to keep scum wondering.

trentonlf: [...] I could care less what is mentioned.
Please don't if you're town. ;-)

Sorry, couldn't resist.

adaliabooks: [...] so why should he actively try to assist a team he isn't likely to be on any more? [...]
In a way he is.
avatar
HypersomniacLive: In a way he is.
True, but only because he wishes to die while still part of that team.
If we lynch him today he is still town and wins with the rest of us (assuming we do win), otherwise he is likely to become scum and assisting us further plays against his future win condition.
avatar
adaliabooks: He is now a liability, that is what I've been trying to tell you all.
I agree with but so far I only looked at what things will be like in the future. I didn't consider he will be forcing the lynch by pre-emptively playing ahead for the conversion.

He has no choice.
He can only help town as long as we lynch him, otherwise it is against his interests to do so. He will not participate in a lynch of someone he thinks might be scum, because he might be on their team tomorrow. In fact I would guess he's not going to vote or participate in any lynch.

I know you guys probably all think I'm crazy, but there is method to my madness. I'm not just shouting nonsense into the bushes for no reason whatsoever...

Horrible.

"Tomorrow" votes don't count.......yet.
I don't even care anymore. Let's just let the lurkers lurk and have someone not invested in playing the game dictate what we do, that is what mafia is all about anyway right?

I just love losing as town, pretty sure I've lost more than I've won at this game so I obviously have no grasp on how to play it.

Unvote Krypsyn
Vote flubbucket

I'm just going to go stand in this pasture and eat some grass, that's about as useful as I can be it seems.

By not caring and giving up is what scum wants. You are giving into it if you do that.
