gogtrial34987: I had thought I was slightly less obvi-mason than I apparently was, I blame flub for not being masony enough (though his voting was flawless), but definitely mad props to trent for being just the right amount of masony, and of course +1s to everyone's praise for ZFR.
Nah, I had you down as certainly a mason after mchack claimed (there was some doubts that flub could be, but I was about 95% certain it was you).
But between trent looking like he was trying to draw a conversion N1 and ZFR almost getting mchack lynched D1 I never had him down as mason.

Reading the mason thread I'm glad I was right about the QT question... And the newbie questions in general, something just told me ZFR was trying too hard to seem inexperienced.

Shame the cyborgs didn't shoot Sage N1 instead of Hunter, it would have been a very different game I think.

Aye! There were many points during the game where things could've gone very different indeed with just small changes (ZFR not forgetting to unvote, NK/conversion decisions, etc) - but that particular one I'm most glad for, as I really enjoyed having the ability to step in.

@Sage: Hope everything went well with the move, and you have full fledged internet up and running by now!

And finally, @Lift, since I didn't say so yet, thanks for hosting a very fun and rewarding game!

Bookwyrm627: And it appears that absolutely everyone read you as scum. Vanilla, masons, and scum. I feel kind of sorry for you on that point.

mchack: I didn't :P
I wanted to lynch either you, adalia or hsl (think I mentioned it somewhere...)
Post 204 in the mason thread. :P

lol.
that's private conversation, you know :P

(anyway, it was back when I still believed, no town vanilla would be earnestly trying to get a claimed mason lynched on the pure whim it might be scum ... well, turns out I was wrong there :/ But I really didn't want to lynch leonard after he made enough of an effort to make me believe he actually isn't scum and I did like his voting pattern much better than that of any of the three, so it was easy for me change my vote back to adaliabooks - anyway, leonard don't do that again, if we ever have a game like this again ;) without this questioning of yours the pool of potential masons would have stayed just this bit larger. oh well, turned out fine in the end anyway. And I did quite a few things I shouldn't have done myself, so who am I to complain. Good game everyone :D)
Just wanted to drop in quickly and say thanks to Lift and all the players. I was away for the weekend and catching up on work so didn't read any of the qt team threads. I'll post later.
@Lifthrasil, thanks for hosting. It was an interesting and quite fun experience; too bad I was this sick the whole game to enjoy it more. Still, I don't think I'm going to join a cult game for the next year at least, if ever.

On a side note, reading the observer QT post-game is no fun when everyone just spills the beans as soon as they step in there; just my 2c that you might want to consider for future games.

Congrats to team boob, and props to ZFR for his devious play.

Also props to adaliabooks for what is probably his best scum game ever; having said that, you still suck for picking me.

RIP

Lol, I get lynched as town a lot it seems, I especially noticed this when looking back at the games I've been in. I wonder if it should tell me to change something about my playstyle...

nah.

Leonard03: nah.
You're winning, no? Then why would you change anything :D
OK, I have time to write a few words on this, so:

adaliabooks: Man of the game for me is definitely ZFR.
Thanks. And thanks to others too. However, the truth is: the only judge on whether I played well or not would be whether my play made my team win. And this we'll never find out because the mutant team got unfairly crippled by Krypsyn's claim. It's like scoring the winning goal after the other team's goalkeeper and best defender had been unfairly sent off. Sure, it might have won the game, but would it have done so had the game proceeded normally? Which is why I don't want to consider this game a win for myself.

That said, I'm happy that even after Krypsyn's claim, Mutants still had a good fighting chance.

Plus, even though I might have hidden my mason identity well, my readings were beyond abysmal. The two things I was completely sure of (i) trent being scum and adalia's partner on D1 and (ii) adalia not being Hunter's buddy because adalia would have been sent for recruitment (boy, that conversation I made up between them sure feels dumb now), were both wrong. I was wrong reading Leonard as scum, Krypsyn as mutant. And even the one thing I accidentally got right (voting HSL on D2) I didn't manage to complete properly because I forgot to unvote (woder how the game would have proceeded had I not made that mistake...).

IMO second best man of the game would be trent. He did an excellent job playing along with pretending to be mason. Though his D1 claim was a no-no; but I'll write write a bit on that in the main mafia administration thread. Incidentally though, the fact that Leonard and Bookwyrm reacted to it, played a role in me thinking them scum.
The man of the game was adalia. He did an excellent job as a mutant and was unlucky no to win this one. Also, I really admire your reaction to Krypsyn's claim. I know I would have been very pissed.
gogtrial did an excellent job - very useful analysis despite joining late. mchacked helped me a lot as well. And a huge thank you to all the other players and Lift for hosting.

I tried pretending to be a newbie hoping this would make me appear town, since otherwise my team members would have answered my questions. This was while I still thought that scum have day chat too. I tried to be subtle, but from the looks of it I wasn't. Didn't fool adalia, HSL, Bookwyrm and probably not the others too.
I'm happy to see though that putting mchcack at L-1 did work well. At this stage I thought that either mchack's lynch is already decided anyway, my vote won't influence it either way and I might as well distance myself, or I'll take the first excuse to remove my vote.

ZFR: Plus, even though I might have hidden my mason identity well, my readings were beyond abysmal.
If you're read through the various other threads, then you'll see that most other people who were open about their reads were pretty much in the same boat. Maybe Flub had it right all game; hard to tell with him. It was impressive how wrong everyone seemed to be about everyone else, which made for really good reading.

ZFR: (boy, that conversation I made up between them sure feels dumb now),
Still hilarious! Hooray! Hooray!

I can't speak for the other two, but I'm pretty much paranoid about everyone and everything, regardless of team. That, and I've seen you in enough threads that I know you're intelligent, so you weren't getting any slack from me in that regard.

Bookwyrm627: ............ Maybe Flub had it right all game; hard to tell with him.................
He's a boob.

Already been established.

Move along.
Im probably missing something obvious but question: why were adalia and HSL discussing d5 and d6 scenarios on what would happen after recruiting me? Wouldnt it have been game over if I was town? 3 mutant vs 3 town?
I thought the recruit was aware of his team the day after recruiting. Just without access to their qt.

EDIT

And even if I wasnt. Wouldnt the best strategy for mutant on d5 after a successful recruit be: HSL and adalia claim mutant. The new recruit has to belive them - adalia was confirmed mutant at that stage. No lynch achieved. Game over.

If we had successfully recruited you it would have been 4 v 3. We'd still need to lynch one town or no lynch and make a NK to win. But considering I was openly claimed scum I was going to be lynched, and Hyper was likely to go the next day.
If all we had needed was a successful conversion I would have gone for Bookwyrm as I knew for sure he was Vanilla town (though admittedly I thought the same about you).

As Bookwyrm already said, I wouldn't worry to much about your reads, hardly anyone gets them right.
I barely followed, but skmming along Krypsyn made a post D2 that I thought was a major tell. Disappointing but not entirely surprising the spark just wasn't there for him in his grand return. Worth a try, anyway.

Perhaps he'll agree to run a pre-holiday edition of Mafia roulette again - which at least theoretically might be more successful with Drealmer not literally roleplaying a paranoiac for S&Gs.

Bookywyrm I just seem to inherently know somehow.

Plus, and I probably should've told you all this sooner but he's my brother, and I saw he left his PM up on his laptop when I went upstairs to turn on the Don Cherry GrapeVine show after getting home from my job at Canadian Tire.

Also, I really like Timbits.
