Mori_Yuki: Not on sale but still available, Disastercake's piece, Soul Saga, also abandoned and developer has up and vanished.
avatar
Getcomposted: FYI, Disastercake is still around on Kickstarter, Discord and his Patreon - and still plugging away on the game. Please note he is a one man band, and he has worked on the game to the detriment of everything else. I think Soul Saga will get finished, it will just take the length of a piece of string. :D
February or March 2020 he was last active on Twitter or anywhere else. He is gone with the airship, leaving behind a trail in the sky and the stench of honest people's burned money.

BranjoHello: If the Giant Bundle happened 10 years ago, I would be so hyped about it.
Today, just a mild thumb up.
But that's because something changed in GOG & world – or because of you?
I'm curious, because for me Economy Bundle (Giants minus Hotels) is still a great deal and some nice additions to GOG classics' catalogue. Not exactly my cup of tea, but I really appreciate they've made an effort to bring these games here.

ciemnogrodzianin: But that's because something changed in GOG & world – or because of you?
Both, actually. :)
Wanted to play Hotel Giant and Industry Giant 2 back then, but in the meanwhile better similar games were released that would quench the thirst in this genere(s) and thus are more worth of my time.
For those who would play them for the nostalgia kick, I guess they could still do.

Oh I didn't realize these were actually new-to-GOG old releases. what I get for not reading the newspost when lengthy info is given.

ciemnogrodzianin: It looks like a next step into void. First they removed most of news' content, now there's even no posts for new releases...
And still no dedicated page, with a list of catalog's updates (additions, changes, etc.), as I have repeatedly suggested:
---
{Date - Time}: The game Y{link_to_game} added to catalog.
{Date - Time}: The game A{link_to_game} changed: Added file(-s).
{Date - Time}: The game B{link_to_game} changed: Changed file(-s) / Changed version.
{Date - Time}: The game C{link_to_game} changed: Deleted file(-s).
{Date - Time}: Sale X{link_to_sale} started. Will end in {Timer}.
{Date - Time}: The game Z{link_to_game} will be removed from the catalog after {Timer} due to the request of the publisher.
---
and so on.

Simple, fast, convenient and useful page with such a log.

It took them over 10 years to finally add a couple of convenient sorting types to the catalog.
I think we'll have to wait at least another 10 years for a convenient "updates page" (which will allow us to conveniently not miss additions to the catalog). // and sort in catalog by "date of addition" to the catalog
Poles simply can't make it just user-friendly - they decided that they couldn't let the store be more convenient than their competitors in any way. This is a point of principle!
Maybe they have someone among the managers secretly working for Valve? That would explain a lot.

Well, GOG is not about user friendliness. :P

• a news feed which contains not more than 8 entries so that even active sales often disappear within less than 24 hours
• a catalog search page which still lacks essential features (filter by discount or user rating? exclude games by genre or tag? search for DLCs of owned games? mark games as not interested?)
• owned games and bundles that are not marked as owned so that they get in your way on every sale (which is especially annoying in combination with the missing blacklist)
• switching from "promo" pages to "partner" pages on sales which lack essential features
• bundles which do not take already owned games into account so that you have to pay again for them when you buy the bundle
• discounts which you have to "redeem" before you can use them and have to be careful that they do not get invalidated before you have used them
• ...

Apparently nobody on GOG has been told that make using a shop more convenient for customers might lead to more sales... ;)

Just in case you're interested – The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker is on historical low, -60%. I've seen the game with a similar discount elsewhere, but waited for GOG's promo. AFAIK the game offers interesting story (multiple endings!) and mechanics (free text input!) – may be worth checking if you like FMVs.

Added/changed:
• $4.49 • -10% • Age of Civilizations II
• $6.74 • -25% • Simon the Sorcerer: 25th Anniversary Edition

PS. OK, I've changed my mind. I was checking if The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker runs fine under Linux and I've found this post. It looks that there's a Linux port, but devs for some reason decided to deliver it on Steam only, so I guess I don't want to purchase the game any more.

PS. PS. I've changed my mind once again :D
After a kind reply from D'Avekki Studios (explaining their limitations and technical issues and even showing me Steam forum's post how to remove DRM), I've decided to purchase that game here on GOG and test it under Wine. I'll report in a proper thread if/how it works.
I thought the sale ended at 3 PM. It's almost as if there were a god mocking me by revealing this was not the case 2 minutes before the sale ended. (◔_◔)
