UPDATE: Heads up! There are 24h left, so now is the time to take advantage of the amazing deals and upgrade your collections. Eyes on the price, Boo, eyes on the price!

Years ago, the Baldur's Gate series changed the way we look at gaming and the scope of what was considered possible. Even now, the legacy continues through the Enhanced Editions – thanks to the hard work and years of updates to keep the inimitable Infinity Engine living on.

It's the work on the Enhanced Editions that made Siege of Dragonspear possible – the just-released, massive expansion to the timeless classic, available only for Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition.

"The team at Beamdog was able to breathe a new life into the Infinity Engine classics." says Greg Tito, Communications Director for Dungeons & Dragons "We're proud to recognize their excellent work in offering the best possible experience and support for these legendary titles. We want these to become the definitive editions – featuring both the enhanced and classic versions of the games."

On April 29, Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition, Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition, and Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition will be expanded to include the classic versions – each becoming the Definitive Edition Bundle and not available for purchase separately. If you already own the classics on GOG.com, the games currently on your shelf won't be affected.

"We're excited to take our commitment and support to Baldur's Gate and GOG fans to the next level and humbled to work with such great partners. The Definitive Edition Bundle will give every Baldur's Gate fan what they're looking for" – concludes Cameron Tofer, Beamdog COO.

In the near future, we're also looking forward to full GOG Galaxy support for achievements in Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition, Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition, and Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition – as well as in the Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear expansion.

Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition will be 75% off until April 4 11:59 PM PDT / April 5 2:59 AM EDT/ 7:59 BST and 60% off until April 29 10:59 AM PDT / 1:59 PM EDT / 18:59 BST. The 60% discount for Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition, and Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition until April 29 10:59 AM PDT / 1:59 PM EDT / 18:59 BST. The 85% discount for owners of the original saga will last until April 29 10:59 AM PDT / 1:59 PM EDT / 18:59 BST.

trentonlf: Guess it was a waste for me to buy these during the insomnia sale, paid 4.99 for each of the Enhanced versions and now I can get them for 2.99 each. Oh well.
Yes. Now I wished I had missed the bundle sale during the Insomnia Sale. (。•́︿•̀。)

I have the EE, but not the Classic Ed. Does this mean the Classic Ed. will be included with the EE in my library for FREE?

try contacting gog explaining you would like a store credit refund for the previous purchase and would like to buy the new bundle.

if you have not played them or downloaded them i cannot see why not..its only been around 7 days since insomnia sale.

Thanks, but I already downloaded them because they would be the next games I would play. That's what I get for being impatient. I'll know next time.
BTW, does this mean the Classic Editions will be included in the EE owner's library for FREE?
From Siege or Dragonspear page - Siege of Dragonspear requires Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition on GOG.com. You can pick up Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition at 75% off, or 85% off if you own the original saga.

Now I understand. I think I answered my own question. I was wondering why everyone was complaining about 85% discount when my page reads 75% discount. Therefore if I own the EE, but not the Classic Ed., I have to pay more for the EE. Actually I paid a 75% discount during the Insomnia sale, so I don't lose anything.

trentonlf: Sadly if you want to play the new DLC for Barldur's Gate you have to have the enhanced version.

The pragmatic answer is that the contract we negotiated with WotC for SoD was for an expansion.

This is basically it. We had initially pushed for a stand-alone release but it didn't work out.

phaolo: Is it true that the EE also miss the original FMV cutscene sequences? O_o

I SERIOUSLY DOUBT gog will do anything about this, even though it is both UNETHICAL and a SLAP in the face for people LUCKY enough to catch them on the Insomnia Sale. Not to mention the fact that some of the Insomnia Sale buyers ALREADY had the original versions. WAY TO GO gog.
Great games, but I still wish they were tactical turn-based. Nice release.
Statistic, reviews, user rating disappear?

It seems that way, yes. (But not for another month or so.)

Yes, the old game pages -- and all info contained thereon -- will be removed from the site.

So people must buy EE versions even if they only want classic versions? Odd decision. Maybe some gamers like definitive edition, but why force all people to buy DE?

viperfdl: Good that I already have the originals. I'm not interested in that fancy new stuff and I will not support such foolish trickery to sell more of it. Now get off my lawn!

My complain is about the fact that the originals will not be sold separately anymore. I'm not interested to pay extra for some marginal patches.

chromeneon: Nope, I don't look like idiot, sorry. The 85 % discount only applies if you already own the classic versions here on GOG (I don't). So I'm perfectly happy with the 75% Insomnia discount I got on all 3 EEs, as if I had to buy them now I'd have to pay 15% more for 2 of them.
Me too. Absolutely agree with you!
