The big annual event starts on 18th August yet we on GOG start the celebrations of QuakeCon early this year. To help you get into the mood, we’ve prepared a Special Sale that includes great games from Bethesda up to 80% off and lasts until 22nd August, 5 PM UTC.
Thank you. If this is the case, I can live with it.

Edit:
I think it would be great to have official announcement on front page, unless we are waiting with it for Quake Enhanced to appear :)

Came to comment on the missing Quake EE and saw many folks are still waiting on the then promised update.
So here's an up vote to all the folks that already mentioned it.

Sulibor: Question is if one just needs to create account, download the content and back up the folder where the files are installed for future installation, or is the account required to access the add-ons, even if the files are on hard drive.
Just tested it, you need a Bethesda.net account to download the addons, but is not needed to play them.

EDIT: Also, multiplayer is local and doesn't need an account either.

Thank you for confirmation.
Actually played a little doom 1 enhanced and it works fine for me on my laptop.
I don't think i need to kill all the enemies and find all the secrets in this game.
And certainly not getting all the pickups since i am new to this game.

edit: also installed doom 2 it has the master levels also guess only thing missing is final doom.

You don't need, indeed. And in later levels things can go pretty big and difficult and probably your main interest will be stay alive.
But in later replays (I do not know the number of times I replayed those games across the years) you will notice that find the secrets etc is half of the fun, specialy when you are familiar with the maps.

greetings

When was it promised, that EE comes to GOG?
Quake Enhanced when?
After reading through,. I see we got the Doom Unity ports, but with significant content locked behind the bethesda.net account. Definitely midling feeling about that. I don't love it, and I don't really hate it since the main games are completely DRM-Free. It's disappointing, though.

If an user ignores completely the bethesda addon downloader he will end up with the content available in the original Ultimate DOOM DOS, and with the original content from DOOM II + Master Levels DOS

THANKS a lot for the free games! :)

First I thought it was a mistake by GOG gifting me/us with the Doom Enhanced games. Especially looking at the price of 99.99$ at "Orders & Settings"... O.O
Are these prices a mistake or a joke?

But Final Doom's 2 episodes need a login. Sooo.

Final Doom was a different game on Steam (not now) and physical versions and maybe Bethesda, probably it was delisted when the updated versions were available.

Final Doom was only bundled with Doom II in GOG.

The standards about what it is defined as official/completionist content are pretty relative. Soooo

I imagine account-gating No Rest for the Living might be more of an annoyance for people who don't want to buy Doom 3: BFG Edition.

Indeed, Some will be annoyed because Doom III BFG, others because a login and others annoyed with both.
Each one will have, choose and will use whatever he want.
