Q3 2022 results are out now, GOG had its best third quarter results yet with a revenue of 44 million zloty and a EBIT profit of 2 million zloty. Not much new information re:GOG, but there's an additional 12 million zloty in pre-payments for future releases this quarter.

Cyberpunk is doing extremely well, now I know CDPR will be Legend one day. CP boosted Witcher 3 too.

Should CDPR go via Crypto/NFT route? There was big discussion about it at Starfield Forums. Ubisoft's Star Wars is rumoured to do NFT. EA's Fifa too.

Turn GoG into Crypto Service. You can buy games with Bitcoin etc. They should get massive amount of press for years to come. Probably bad one, but anything will do?

GroguSkywalker: They have 7 million dollars in losses. It's a matter of time before they close. I do not know how there are users who justify these losses.
GoG havent even seen 7 mill, well Cyberpunk did probably abit of money but after CP.

No, that is not correct. Bad PR is bad PR. No PR is better than bad PR.

It might work, Enjin Coin is still going strong, they started like 5+ year ago. I havent really followed it, but man its 5 year old at least.

Crypto Trolls are attacking game indsutry btw, we should defend ourselves. They are developing all kind of crazy browser games at least. CDPR could be first line of defend.

Star Atlas has somekind of crypto economy. Epic Games stuff.

Huh, I guess replacing support staff with a nonfunctional chatbot did pay off after all.

Here's to plumbing new depths! HUZZAH!

The ONLY way I would be interested in CDP getting into the crypto sphere is if they started accepting direct payments with crypto. NFTs are one of the biggest jokes of this decade and they create a bad name for people who simply want to use crypto to reclaim financial autonomy and privacy... just like so-called crypto "investors". Together, NFTs and those "investors" make crypto look like this ridiculous fad that's scamming everyone when, in reality, cryptocurrency has always been meant to function as digital cash AND to create a means to legally circumvent oppressive financial restrictions by hyper greedy governments.

I think kid buy games with Euro then it transforms into crypto currency, he can play and get cool achievements and earn crypto, or if he behaves nicely in he forums, he might get reward as crypto etc. They could do all kind of NFT/Crypto browsers games too. Also part of that Euro goes to devs, who made the game. CDPR cant pay to developers with crypto.

CDPR should end up quite differen than the rest, which is nice. But it takes year to get it fully funtional, if they started now, it might be ready at Witcher 4 at least partly.

My idea isnt SCAM, it works exactly like the one now, but gives extra cool stuff to consumer. I think its cool idea, I hope someone else do it if CDPR isnt up to it. They could even put option to turn it off, if consumer doesnt want it.

I'm not against incentives to interact with the community, to customize your profile, etc. as long as those are 100% optional. NFTs are not needed to do that, though, nor would I want CDP to get into that position.

Your Profile could tons better if there was NFT with value over there. You could sell it and buy something nicer.

I think if CDPR is gonna do this, go all in, add every bit of it, from utility to meme to NFT to own crypto coin, selling, buying and trading, even investing if someone is up to it. Mining too. I think we all agree GoG needs overhaul anyway.

Minimum age 21 imho.

Why would I care THAT much about my profile? Yes, I like customizing profiles on gaming platforms but it's not so important to me that I'd want to sell it.

Again, NFTs are one of the biggest jokes of this century. I'm all for crypto as a means of reclaiming financial autonomy & privacy. Using it as an "investment" or using blockchain tech for stuff like NFTs, it's just goofy.

Lots of stuff has started as a joke and grew insanely big, World of Warcraft? Thats the thing what CDPR should consider, how big NFT and Crypto is in 10-20 year. They are still small and gog is still pretty unknown, they could slowly build from that. For most big publishers NFT and Crypto is too big risk. I honestly think CDPR is the one who could do this.

Crypto and NFT doesnt happen over night. Hell it takes probably 1-2 year just to make your Coin and Wallet and get Listed, etc. I thikn NFT and Crypto keeps growing bigger and bigger. What can really stop it? Its billion dollar industry. If one coin goes down, theres 10 new coming. If USA doesnt wanna do it, China jumps on it like a fat kid on candy.

This is my last response, as we've derailed this topic enough.

Comparing the largest MMORPG to something as silly as "I own these pixels" is ridiculous. Also, CDPR isn't small, nor is GOG unknown. They're not as large as your EAs, your Ubisofts, but they're still a triple-A company.

Again, cryptocurrency and blockchain was NEVER meant for "investment" or NFTs. In fact, that silliness is what's making it harder for legitimate users to use it as the government is getting involved (see the SEC absurdity against LBRY for an example of that). Crypto and blockchain were meant to reclaim financial autonomy and to create decentralized technology respectively. Misusing the two so you can "own" some pixels, a heap of binary, that's just ridiculous and I will not get behind it.

So, to reiterate and clarify: I'd be in support of CDP implementing an option for direct crypto payments via the popular coins (preferably Bitcoin and Monero). I am not in support of them implementing NFTs.

CDPR is small as hell, 400 staff nothing, Ubisoft's staff is 10k.

Btw we didnt derail this topic, its about development and company strategy. If they make own Coin, we could invest them, it would be fun.
