supplementscene: [...] in Mafia we're supposed to analyse peoples voting intentions to get whether they're genuine or not. [...]
Good point; where's your analysis and contribution to the game?
supplementscene: [...] because we're active players. [...]
*looks at supplementscene's grand total of three posts out of almost 190 thread-posts*
Yeah well, you and I must have very different definitions of
active player.
blotunga: @Hyper: in post #102 scene clearly says that the
shoots blotunga was a vote intended for me. [...]
That's true, however my question had an additional purpose, as you didn't leave it at just that in your post #117 [emphasis added]:
blotunga: [...] And it does seem that scene is voting me, so
he contradicts himself, as usal. [...]
Given that it's now the third game (fourth? don't know if you were also in the off-site one) you and supplementscene play together, do you think you're a "newbie" in his eyes?
blotunga: [...] As for the Pooka question, he instantly jumped on the wagon after zfr, Lift and Korotan.
He changed the vote later, though.
Anyway it was my initial analysis, please don't make an elephant out of an ant.
All I'm trying to do is follow your thought process, and see if there are any inconsistencies; I'm a firm believer of "the devil's in the details".
Having said that, I see that we have a misunderstanding due to the wording of your post #60. I've been questioning you about your comment on PookaMustard jumping on "that" being related to ZFR and him deviating from his RNG RVS voting, but putting your posts #60 and #146 together, I see you didn't mean it that way.
blotunga: Seriously though, keep in mind what the guys wrote, it's just a game.
It's ok to dirty talk people in the game, call them stupid etc, but in the end, we all part as friends, no matter if we won or lost.
[emphasis added]
I strongly disagree with this. One should attack people's arguments, and that can be done with aggressiveness and even sarcasm without resorting to wording that, even if unintentionally, attacks the person that has made said arguments. I've been at the receiving end of some very nasty stuff, and I assure you that it's no fun, nor is it easy to overlook it and go on as if those words hadn't been addressed to you.
Microfishd: [...] >>His post 45 is a probe
It is
very interesting, and it seriously lacks content. To me, this is a "leans negative."
>>then he was helpful
Again, it seemed innocent enough in context--especially considering that all here have been very nice to new players; yet seems to me to perhaps be "filler" content, or what I'll mention later with regards to Trent. Here, I have no opinion. [...]
Thanks. To put things in perspective, the reason I asked you was to see where you stand; talking game mechanics and setup instead of probing players and trying to solve the game is something that mafia usually does, so in this context I give his post #45 a thumb down (ZFR is also guilty of this, but at least it's not the only thing he's done), and I do see his post #47 as filler content given his lack of game solving and scum-hunting.
Microfishd: [...] Trent, on the other hand, I saw
mostly as analyzing what others have said or asking for explanations--not adding a lot of new information attacking players other than ZFR, and perhaps his actions jumped out at me as seeming to fit
this.
[...]
I just did an ISO of trentonlf, and up to your post #119, I don't see the "analysing what others have said or asking for explanations" part. Perhaps it's a matter of interpretation, but I have to ask - are you sure you're not mixing him up with another player? If you're sure it was him, can you point out what in his posts you interpret as such?
Microfishd: ^^
all of the above was one post, and contrary to what Zeogold & others can do, the non-scripted forum would not allow me to reply to multiple different people's posts in one post. Shrug.
Your mafia life will be immensely improved if you install both the
Barefoot Essentials (BE) and
Adalia Fundamentals (AF) userscripts.
BE adds a very handy "quick post/ quick reply" function, that comes with an in real time preview window. What I do, is open each post I want to quote-reply to in a separate tab, type what I have to say, then stitch them all together in a single post, and hit the post button. You may have noticed that I group my comments per player addressed, which would be a real PITA to do without BE.
AF provides a feature rich search function, which you can use to isolate a player's (or more) posts; helps with getting a better overview of each player's activity and interactions with others (especially if you ISO them together), or refreshing your memory on what they've said.
Last but not least, thanks for the wishes.
