binaryjunky: "knowingly post false information"

how the hell would you know that?
Either:
* You know that the information was false, and therefore know that your post is in violation of the rules, or
* You don't know the information is false, in which case you did not knowingly post false information, and therefore are not in violation of the rules.

What's the problem?

binaryjunky: Good luck with your remaining twitter mob and cow-towing to idiots that aren't even your customers, maybe you need this.
The people who you are referring to:
* Are not idiots.
* Are indeed GOG's customers.

Edit: Why is this"low rated"?

I don't love you. I don't even know who the fuck you are. But I hate my little pony so right now you're not starting off well.

"Love Trumps Hate" can be seen as mean as well. Its origins are an implication that Trump and anyone who supports him (for whatever reason) are uniquely hateful.

I would just rather people be honest.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah it was getting so nice when gog had a bit of moderation.

Like 200'000 seconds ago. Remember that era ?

No, I have no memory of this.

Sad fact! That phrase makes quite a bit of sense no matter how you arrange the words:

Trump hates love
Trump loves hate
Hate loves Trump
etc.

I'll jump into this, since the topic seems alive-ish.

How the hell does anyone know what someone else knows? How do you know whether i'm in violation of the rules or not without looking into my mind, which, as far as we know, is totally impossible?

What happened to posts 943 and 944?

Good question. However, if we see the obvious progression leading up to those two posts (and how heated they are), i think it's safe to say that whatever they were, they were golden.

GOG promotes ███ ██████████ ██ controversial speech. The like ██ ████ topics involving politics. The ███████ don't cater to one side or the other, and are fair██ ██████ regarding certain topics.

Not really. It's been around before TinyE was born, i'm sure, but everyone's been adapting it. Here's where i stole it from:

Twitter █████████ supports ████ your █████ 1st Amendment ██████ █████rights█████████ there ████is███no█████ bias████ .
Which was something i found when i decided to see what the hell #deplatformhate has been up to.

EDIT: Actually, i'm sure it's been around since at least the 60s. Cold war stuff, legal stuff, CIA stuff. You can actually find some golden ones if you have the right google image search string. Some of it is not only funny, but actual cases of ridiculous censorship, too. Where simply making a word plural ends up getting it on the banned words list. There was a legal document talking about this, but it, too, got censored, which i find hilarious and sad at the same time.

EDIT: another goodie

Hi there GOG.com moderators.

I would like to bring up some points, after reading yet another "Codes of Conduct" article.
The duties of a moderator shouldn't be to judge the behavior of forum members and possibly issue bans, as a form of punishment. Neither pretend to be a symbol of morality, forcing corrective action on the behavior of forum members.
No one is infallible and being subject to his/her own opinions rarely can be more objective than the social consensus implies.
Internet is a social construct of anonymous users. It cannot be policed and it cannot be contained and all such efforts are futile.
You want a group of random people to pretend to be the law? Then you should have a strong judicial system backing this up.
1.Allow reports toward moderators and issue bans to them as well. Discharge them from their duties if you have to.
2.Bans are first proposed and then reviewed by multiple moderators before being issued.
3.Bans must come with proof and the issuer is held personally accountable, reporting to a supervisor about his/her decision, exercising punitive authority only as a last resort.
4.Moderators should mainly intervene and defuse situations by communicating with the posters, deleting posts, with full explanation and even locking threads.
5.Moderators must show they are worth their duties. Pretending to be god behind a screen, or abusing their privileges for personal reasons should be punished by account termination, after a honest and fair review from peers. If an appointed moderator wants to dispute a discussion point, than he/she can always use the keyboard and behave like a member of the community.
6.Being a moderator should not mean you can't behave emotionally in the forums. It just gives you the tools to remedy mistakes, encourages you to apologize and make an example of yourself.

Otherwise, moderator "privileges and authority" mean nothing to no one. It's just a game of cat and mouse on a chessboard made out of thin air. A fool's errand.
I have been through many forums and a thing I like to do in the first days is, report anyone who is "supposed to be breaking the rules", and wait to see what happens. I shall evaluate how things are handled here in GOG.com and what your moderators are worth, with all due respect.

Have a nice day.

Just re-read the terms and conditions myself after encountering the new moderation. Effectively you can be warned/banned without any reason, explanation, or recourse. The terms themselves are incredibly vague and all encompassing whereby anything could be deemed in contradiction to them, even the discussion of the T&C themselves.
As such the forum is unviable any longer.
Unable to report forum breach of rules: politics:

No report options, support page does not work. Apologies to anyone offended by my post, I am unclear on what words are acceptable.
