BreOl72: But your comment reminded me of another game I'm waiting for (not canceled - so far (fingers crossed)):
the new System Shock.
I'm also waiting for this(mainly to play something new in the "ShockVerse", as I've played all the games and also the SP story mods for SS2).....and also hoping the thing runs on my pc.

Vainamoinen: A complete reboot and reimagining of Tom Hall's 2001 masterpiece "Anachronox" that adds the second half. The license is with SquareEnix now, so just forget about that.
Haven't beaten that game yet, but i'd also like this one to be completed.

Timboli: I would like them to continue with SIN: Episodes, which was cancelled after the first one appeared.
Wasn't this one cancelled after the first game got leaked or because of very poor sales?
I seem to recall it was one of the two....either way, I'd also like to see more of it as well.
(with some improvements, like captions on all audio.....including the phone messages)
The game also has some good music....case in point

I don't know if this was real, or just one of the many childhood memories I have that didn't happen.

But back in the first VR craze in the 90's, TSR the then owners of Dungeons and Dragons put out an advertisement for investors in a radical idea

An interactive Room scale VR version of Dungeons and Dragons... back in the 90s

I've tried many times to find any reference to this and failed, but that really would have been a sight to behold back then. Of course it would have failed, the tech was no where near ready, but the idea was decades ahead
News of a Broken Sword 6 would really be good:)

Swedrami: Another Pulp/Weird Tales/Science Fantasy associated franchise, John Carter (of Mars) is (still?) lined up to make its video game adaptation debut at some point in the future as well, by the way.
"Still" with a question mark since they didn't hit their crowdfunding target almost exactly a year ago, but had already started "deep talks with publishing partners".
I would love a good John Carter game but I can't say I was impressed by the material those guys showed.

I'm always up for Brutal Legend 2 (who knows, now that we have Psychonauts 2...), and I would have loved to see Freedom Force continue as a franchise (https://www.ign.com/articles/2009/06/26/the-past-present-and-future-of-freedom-force).

I wish someone could have finished Star Trek: Secret of Vulcan Fury. Somewhere out there are the recordings of the original cast's final performances as those characters...

The way I recall it, was that it was taking too long to make, like many games, and meanwhile a lot of support had shifted to Half Life, and the game sold poorly in comparison.

Of course many games are slow with profits, but a great classic always makes enough eventually. Just not enough for the short term profit makers, which has spoiled many games and movies etc. Backers want a quick large return.

Vainamoinen: Ah ... to those forgotten. A toast!

I wanted to play Michel Ancel's 2008 announced true successor to "Beyond Good & Evil", before Ubisoft shat its corporate crap on it - and before the main voice actress died on us.
This is the one that hurt me the most! The trilogy that never happened...

The good news is that BG&E 2 is a record breaker. it has now been in development for one year longer than Duke Nukem Forever.

(bolding mine) True enough

(aside: this reminds me of many good/decent tv series, which get cancelled after one season or so due to not being profitable/popular enough)

Moonbeam: ... a proper The longest Journey 2.
Wouldn't that be cool. While I liked Dreamfalls story, going on the road again with April and Crow would have been nice.

Seeing the Indiana Jones fan made sequels and remakes getting finished would also have been nice. But they had to stop working on them
Indiana Jones and the Fountain of Youth, Indiana Jones and the Seven Cities, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis SE.
At least there's Zak MacKracken Fangames and there's a DOTT successor getting ready (Night of the Meteor). These games show that Disney is not all Evil. But it seems to be more of a problem if movie franchises are involved.

Vainamoinen: Ragnar Tørnquist's true successor to The Longest Journey, called "The Longest Journey Home" in the 2013 Kickstarter for Dreamfall Chapters, promised pure 2D graphics and point and click adventure gameplay.
I got disappointed by Chapters. The game seriously breaks down in book 4 and book 5 is just info dump, to try to conclude the storyline, completely disregards anything happening in one of the worlds (NOTHING MATTERED THERE. not just action of the character, with fake illusion of choice. but the whole part could be removed from the game and no plot would have been affected nor end of the game)

guess they run out of money around book 2 or so and had to massively cut on what they planned. not to mention their unity issues and upgrade to new version probably took a lot of time hence more budget.

I do hope TLJ Home will be done one day. even if not by Rangar. Love the world.

On similar thought:

Broken Sword 6. Shame 5 didnt sell more :(

I hope that episodic games will be all but a memory one day.
When Telltale started that hype, it seemed to be the saviour for small developers, but it has proven to be quite catastrophic when it comes to constant quality and coherent story and riddle design.
There is one game that needs a sequel.

Donkey Kong 64

It needs to be in 3D and with Kremlings, including King K. Rool.
Tekken X Street Fighter
