CymTyr: Me too. Um.... ok....

SO. Those Rams are actually doing pretty well this year, huh? Surprising.

tinyE: fuck kroenke

Averages a half full stadium in LA every week; had to leave St Louis because there was no fan base.
Yeah... Sad thing with the Browns is I think the owner actually wants them to be successful but is just really really clueless. I heard a rumor before I gave up Twitter that Peyton Manning was going to become the new GM of the Browns after the season's over.... IDK how true it is though.
Yesterday they tried to implode the Pontiac Silverdome (former home of the Detroit Lions), as is is fitting of anyone or anything associated with the Lions, they failed miserably. :P

Wow. That's all I can really say.
As of right now, the answer is yes.

But this question also depends on how far back your time frame is willing to go. By 1989 the movie Major League came out about the Cleveland Indians futility and they still have not won a World Series since 1948. However they have been competitive and made the World Series 3 times in the past 23 years (including losing two heart-breaking Game 7s in the ninth inning or later).

The Toronto Maple Leafs (NHL) have not won the Stanley Cup since 1967 (the final year of Original Six before expansion began), did not have a .500 season for the entire decade of the 1980s, had the worst owner in all of sports (Harold Ballard) and had the first pick in the draft last season after having made the postseason only once in the previous 11 years. They also have the highest average ticket prices and have "won" the Sporting News title as worst value in Pro Sports several times.

The New York Islanders have been bottom feeders for the past 30 years, have had multiple No. 1 overall picks, were sold to a scam artist (John Spano) - ESPN 30 for 30 about how it happened. They now play in Brooklyn (even though they are the Islanders and almost their entire fan base is based on Long Island and Nassau County) at the Barclays Center with seats you can't see a third of the rink, get paid a set sum of money and let somebody else handle all the marketing and revenue generation, want to leave the arena and the Barclays Center wants them to leave the arena. So the Islanders are right up there.

Not familiar with the Islanders. What professional sport do they play?

Also, the Browns have been to the postseason once since returning in 1999, and have never won a superbowl. All of their titles are pre 1966. Also, since returning to the NFL in 1999, they have never won a playoff game.

Regarding Toronto, I'm not discussing value, I'm discussing ineptitude and winning one game out of 16 last year, and none out of 12 so far this year. That's pretty staggering ineptitude.

Thanks for your insight though :)

The Islanders are a hockey team but the poster failed to mention that they've only been around since 1972 and in that time won four strait Stanley Cups. It is almost certain no one will ever come close to pulling that off again.

The Browns have been around a hell of lot longer than that. How many strait Super Bowls have they won? Wait, how many Super Bowls have they won period? :P

BTW, the Giants just fired McAdoo.

McAdoo was a train wreck. Grats.
BTW, since we are talking all sports, I just checked Wiki. The longest current streak of no championships is the Chicago/St. Louis/Arizona Cardinals followed closely by a team in Cleveland, but not the Browns, the Indians.

HALLELUJAH! REESE AND MCADOO ARE GONE! REJOICE!

To think I used to defend Reese, too. The Giants have automatically improved. Granted, they are still absolute garbage, but still. Apart from the disrespect to Eli, the fact that McAdoo would openly speculate about the starter at QB yet wouldn't do so FOR ANY OTHER POSITION (when pretty much every other position has sucked) was infuriating. Bye bye, Reese and McAdoo.

Raderofthelostark: I honestly believe that if the Browns played my favorite NFL team, the Giants, this year, the Browns would get their first win. But yes, I can't see a team worse at their sport in the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, etc.

But I don't think they will go winless. They play the Ravens in a few weeks, who are mediocre and a division rival. And then the week after that they play the Bears, who are garbage. Both of those are probably the most winnable games for them.

Looking at the stats, interestingly enough their defense is 9th best in yards allowed per game but 2nd worst in points allowed. I haven't watched them (really haven't watched much NFL this year in general), but it must be primarily because of how inept their offense is, leading to often short fields for opponents. Perhaps their special teams are terrible too?

tinyE: I mentioned earlier, the Browns aren't the worse team, because the Browns don't have anything to play with and were expected to be lousy. They have zero players, an idiot coach, and clueless owners.

No offense, but your Giants (who I have always had a love for) are loaded with future hall of famers and are still god awful. :P I think that makes them the worst team.

The big big difference is, all teams have horrible years, most rebound. The Giants will be good again. The Browns won't. :P

BTW, isn't this thread more fun than that fucking flame war political thread going on? :D

I swear, if more people just talked about sports there would be no strife in this world.
Ha, no offense taken. They are trash and should be lambasted for it. If we actually start drafting the positions we really need (i.e. offensive line and running backs), we should be able to rebound.
Congrats, Rader :) Glad one of us has gotten good news this year. Well, I sort of did. Josh Gordon came back to the Browns.
They fired the acting GM and hired John Dorsey. Within 24 hours he cut the waste of oxygen known as Kenny Britt, Mr. Trampoline Hands himself.

I'm liking this Dorsey fellow.
How about the Florida Marlins?

I know they have won 2 World Series titles in the past 20 years, but most of the time they have been a dumpster fire. Horrible ownership in Loria, a crooked baseball stadium deal, they make more profit than any other team, but spend the least, they are always in a fire sale trading their best players and Derek Jeter as the new owner has been a completely classless ass, so they are continuing the same way. Also, nothing like trading your best player (Stanton used his no trade clause to cancel the trade, but he is getting dealt) when he is the reigning MVP.
He was dealt. He's a Yankee now.

tinyE: He was dealt. He's a Yankee now.
Hadn't seen it yet, I was working. Looking it up now it is still just sources and not confirmed.

Love how this franchise cries poverty, when they have more profit than any other team in baseball. MLB needs to get rid of the luxury tax and let teams compete on their own. Giving the Marlins tens of millions each year as they intentionally lose by getting rid of any and all talent for minimum salary prospects is BS.

Browns up 14 going into the 4th.
