Strijkbout: You should write them a jobapplication for being the new coach/manager.

CymTyr: I know it's a joke, but I'm definitely not interested. The team is cursed.
That's what they said about the Cubs and the Red Sox.

I'm tired of this curse bullshit. :P
Remember when the Browns went 4-0 in the preseason? People were so excited!

wolfsite: I was reading a book about a week ago and there was a small clip in it were someone had in there will a request that the Paul Bearers at his funeral consist of players from the Cleveland Browns so they can let him down one last time.

If you are a real fan of NFL football, you know how meaningless the preseason record is. :P
Yeah. Because sometimes I get down about being a Jets fan, but then I remember that at least we have a Superbowl and have made the playoffs 7 years out of the past 20. I think Cleveland made the playoffs once or twice at most in the past 20 years. It's really ridiculous. You almost have to be trying to lose to be that bad.

I just realized that Cleveland is on pace to finish last in the AFC North for the 8th consecutive year. That's crazy!

when I was a kid the Browns were awesome. Problem is every year they ran into John Elway. :P

Honestly, this is why I'm about done with football for the next year or two. I'm certainly no fair weather fan, but I've earned the right to skip the sport until the Browns are actually trying again.

I'm going to throw this out there and say that unless they win 4-5 of their last 6 games, they're probably drafting a quarterback with their #1 pick in the draft, and Deshone Kizer is going bye bye.

He has a perpetual look of anger now. Must hurt to suck that badly. He reminds me of a less talented Derek Anderson.

I made the mistake of watching last Sunday, pissed me off the rest of the day. I'm seriously thinking of giving up football permanently, while I'm at it.

It's been already, but you'd think they actually get paid to suck this badly. The year they went 7-9, the owner pulled Brian Hoyer and put Johnny Manziel in (it was a top level decision) - this basically ruined Hoyer's confidence even to the current time. He had us at 5-2 and had one bad game and got benched. The game was pretty horrendous, but we were actually in 1st place in the AFC north that year for a week or two.

I am convinced the owner wants to suck and intends on moving the team. Someone said he has a 30 year lease on the stadium, but he's a business man, and contracts have been broken before.
Watched part of the game. Browns blew again. These guys make so much money yet can't even play a sport that little kids play.

At least Ohio State won yesterday.

Oh yeah, as a special "consolation" to browns fans, the team scored a touchdown when the game was decided already and it was guaranteed they were going to lose.

you won't be the only team to go winless for a season.

They're not going winless. They'll win 2-3 games this year, just like Vegas originally predicted. Whether that's enough to save the head coach and the current QB? We'll find out late December/early January.
I honestly believe that if the Browns played my favorite NFL team, the Giants, this year, the Browns would get their first win. But yes, I can't see a team worse at their sport in the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, etc.

But I don't think they will go winless. They play the Ravens in a few weeks, who are mediocre and a division rival. And then the week after that they play the Bears, who are garbage. Both of those are probably the most winnable games for them.

Looking at the stats, interestingly enough their defense is 9th best in yards allowed per game but 2nd worst in points allowed. I haven't watched them (really haven't watched much NFL this year in general), but it must be primarily because of how inept their offense is, leading to often short fields for opponents. Perhaps their special teams are terrible too?

I mentioned earlier, the Browns aren't the worse team, because the Browns don't have anything to play with and were expected to be lousy. They have zero players, an idiot coach, and clueless owners.

No offense, but your Giants (who I have always had a love for) are loaded with future hall of famers and are still god awful. :P I think that makes them the worst team.

The big big difference is, all teams have horrible years, most rebound. The Giants will be good again. The Browns won't. :P

BTW, isn't this thread more fun than that fucking flame war political thread going on? :D

I swear, if more people just talked about sports there would be no strife in this world.

It's a combination of the offense having a rookie QB who is relatively clueless, receivers who can barely catch a cold, and special teams that can't seem to catch a break.
