For those asking about the shared stash.

it is not available in The Hell 2, it was removed with the version 1.0.

Don't know about The Hell 1.
avatar
billybgame: Huh? The shared stash is certainly still there. Unless you are playing Ironman or Nightmare.
avatar
starschild86: how do i access this?
i gave tons of items to Gillian and she works on a single character, however i cannot pass items from one char to another.
normal mode, trying to share items from a lvl 9 archer to a lvl 1 mage
any idea? i read online that i need to run thehell.exe instead of th2.exe, however i didn't find it in my th2_v1.0045
billy's wrong, mordor removed the stash for "balance" in version 1.0
I never used Reshade, TH2 does have some built-in shaders. But it barely got anyone interested, so that was stopped. Maybe Bloom effect. Others were not impressive.

Actually, since I didn't use reshade, I can't say anything about it. Got to try it first. I will write again if there is anything I have to say about it.
The Hell 2 simply has an overly emotional developer, nothing more. The mod is not worth playing. It doesn't help that you can throw money at him on patreon and make it even more of a mess.
Stick with the vanilla release, play legit. Mods like this ruin the experience.

Belzebub is fun despite its flaws. The Hell 2 mod is a total mess, and honestly not worth the aggravation unless you can get into Iron Man tournaments. A lot of people tend to drop the mod because it's full of problems, Mordor:

"29 classes"
And most of them are pure garbage, incomplete, or both (Every Mage class. The instructions even say some Mages are incomplete). Every Mage class feels like a total mess, and the spell cooldowns and restrictions the author keeps adding to the Mage classes make them even more unplayable (They can't teleport in certain rooms now. Wtf?!). Aside from class traits (that hurt you more than help you), the class variation is a joke (The 3 summoner classes are more or less the same). Who cares about 29 classes if more than half of them can't even beat normal or feel incomplete like Elementalist and Warlock? Don't even get me started on the bad itemization, and how it's a nightmare to level up Mage classes and their pets/spells because book drops are insanely low. Mage itemization is really bad.

"all classes are unique"
No they're not. Look at the summoners. They're the same crappy class with different pets. Mage, Elementalist, and Warlock aren't different aside from the crappy spells they start with. I'm busting on the Mage classes because it's the group with the most problems from what I experienced.

"24 dungeons"
And they're not fun to go through when you get a badly-generated level (You walk in machine gun archers the minute it starts, and a pack of extra strong mobs the minute it starts). One hit kill chests aren't fun to experience depending on the class (You're screwed as a Mage until you get Telekinesis. Good luck getting that book). Also, you're really bad at dungeon designs because the Cavern levels have some of THE WORST chest layouts I've seen in any ARPG. Not even Blizzard screwed this up.

"3 weapon slots to cover everything"
Yet it's kinda pointless for a mage to even have 3 slots. They don't have ranged weapons, and their melee is a joke. Bombadiers don't have access to blunt weapons or melee, and they need like 4 or 5 sets of potions to be viable (Have fun switching them out).

"Balanced unlike Belzebub"
Lol. Belzebub might have issues, but to be fair it's based on deleted content from Diablo 1. It's actually fun and challenging. You removed the key to access the spell book window from Diablo 1, a feature IN VANILLA DIABLO 1. How is that an improvement?! And already assigned key spells? Really? Also, you ruined the Guardian spell, and certain mages can't hit a mob even if they tried. Again, play as the Summoners with all the cooldowns added to the game, and tell me if it's fun to stomach that class. They can't melee, they can't do any range, their pets suck, and on top of having the worst spell cooldowns compared to other classes, they can't even hit anything with their spells. Again, how on God's green Earth did you screw up Guardian?

"4 different game modes"
And they're honestly not fun due to terrible class balance (cough Mages cough) and bad level rng (mobs, ohko chests), and other flaws. I don't feel like I'm getting more powerful when I'm leveling a character at all.

Mordor I have to say you are the best! I want to thank you for all your work and passion for this game because after 20 years of me playing it you managed to make it feel fresh and new!

I wish you the best of luck in your future projects, you are truly a gem for diablo fans!
I see updates are releasing, that's nice. I am curious about those new difficulties, I will check it for sure, at least to see how it is developed compared to version I've played before.

The 2 Iron Man and Speedrun modes are the only ones worth playing (Vanilla Single Player is broken), but the problem is more than half of the classes can't even beat regular Iron Man. Traits are VERY hit and miss (Beastmaster traits make the class even harder because I had an easier time killing mobs without those traits). A lot of classes flat out suck, and have that incomplete feeling.

You're going to get very frustrated with Mordor's shitty level designs when you walk into a pack of 50 archers the second the new level starts (because Mordor sucks at level design as much as he sucks at class balance).

the hell 2 is garbage, don't bother, play vanilla
I played TheHell and some other mods that couldn't be played on win 10 easily. For us lonhaul hardcore hell players its pretty interesting to see TheHell2 popup. Yes, I loved HDbeelzebub as well. If its a free dl I'll check it out. I do have to wonder who'd pay 100-300/mo for special priviledges though. Lol, you might hook some dude ehos loaded so i can't fault you for trying. I'll check some youtube play.
Hi! Are there any beginner builds/guides for TH2 for my first playthrough?

Your best bet is to look up Thraex_Pig on Youtube to see how he clears the shitty Iron Man modes. Basically you want to get Swift Learner, Educated, and whatever is tied to your class. I'm going to give you a couple of warning:

-Most of the classes suck, and are broken for the worse.
-Most of the class traits do more harm than good for your class. The Beastmaster exclusive traits are total shite because they ruin your pets.
-If you try Grim Deal, spend points on Life regeneration while finding life regen gear.
-Don't play a Summoner if you like magic. Their spells are shite.
-Stack +magic gear to boost your spell levels

The amount of hate for The Hell 2 mod I see on this section is amazing. For a free mod ? Seriously? I know for once i enjoyed the mod since the beginning, but hey, everybody's entitled to an opinion. But from that to go into that point of saying "it's total shit, it's sucks.." and so on? Hell, sure, we shouldn't even try it right? :)))))

I barely post anything on GOG forums but I had to bring a little contribution here. It is a mod that a played with for more than a year and enjoyed for FREE. As for the haters out there, i did not get it, what is the issue with a person having a patreon? It blows my mind sometimes ... he has a patreon, it is there, nobody forces you to do anything at all ( this kind of hate is what sometimes motivates me to actually make there a small donation :))) ) . Anyways, enough of a rant, the mod is quite enjoyable and does make Diablo 1 a totally different experience, in a good way, at least that's the way i see it.

P.S. I play summoners in game and i must say i'm enjoying my necromancer a lot, so no, not all of us see this game as shit :)

It's well deserved. Mordor is a prick who gets triggered from feedback that isn't an ass pat, and his attitude made someone post the code for this trash mod. He deleted feedback on the Moddb site like a little bitch. Screw him. I laughed my ass off seeing him die with his shitty Beastmaster class a while back because he can't even play his garbage mod competently (I can say this after beating SI with shitty BM). The class traits are mostly shitty because they either don't work (e.g. the Beastmaster traits) or make your class even worse.

It is total garbage, and it's bullshit to give money to an incel mod who keeps making the game worse with pointless, shitty updates. It's very incomplete, broken, and halfassed. I can tell you didn't beat any of the Iron Man modes from reading your post. The further you keep playing he game, the more you realize it's shite. A lot of nerfs like the Mage and Iron Maiden nerfs were uncalled for because Mages are hit and miss even if you know what you're doing. No one is paying money for Median XL or Path of Diablo, and people DONATE to Median XL to support the mod makers.

Again, the issue with the Patreon is he making you pay for a shitty mod that gets worse with each update. He broke the UI, and made it worse. I don't know how can anyone break something that worked well in Vanilla. To add insult to injury, Single Player is literally broken because he ruined the coding and programming for some of the quests, making any non-Iron Man mode pointless to play.

P.S. I play summoners in game and i must say i'm enjoying my necromancer a lot, so no, not all of us see this game as shit :)
The game is broken trash, and once again I can tell you didn't beat it. It's full of very bad level designs (walking into 50 archers or a FYAD boss with no option to breathe) the itemization is absolutely atrocious (especially for Summoners like Beastmaster), and there are a LOT of broken, shitty classes like Beastmaster and Bombardier (you can beat the Iron Man modes with BM, but the class is very incomplete and halfassed compared to Demonologist and Necro). Bombarider and BM weren't developed at all (even Mordor admitted BM is shite, but he's never going to fix that shitty useless class), and the Monk classes don't really stand out from each other). Beastmaster is the worst Summoner class.

I'm going to try to reply as on point as possible Childofpit, without quoting that wall of text. Starting from your assumption that i did not finish the game im (funny, you know so much about me... not :p) and continuing with the stuff you said about single-player makes me draw the line, because i see no point in continuing with a debate. This is not even a debate, it's only you ranting and hey, nobody's stopping you having a personal vendetta with the mod, but you're missing the ONLY point i meat through my post:

There are others that do no have the same opinion as you, there are others like me that enjoy the single-player and there are people that literally do not care about meridian being free because they enjoy other mods more....
In the end, it is my personal choice where i donate or whom i support with my money, because while you consider it stupid, i consider it an investment in my enjoyment (some parts of you post sound like you're the kind of person that would call me stupid in a bar for paying triple on my whisky on the rocks, even if it was my choice to be generous with the bartender :))) ).

Have a good day.
